"We went here for dinner. Ordered one of the specials which was pasta with shrimps and scallops but there was barely any seafood. Maybe one baby scallop chopped up in to tiny pieces. I ordered the lasagna special which was good but salty. They allow a vendor in there selling his jewellery he apparently was to be reputable. NOT. He ripped us off with his plated silver and song and dance about his reputation. Service was excellent."

"La Portena is consistently good food. Being here during COVID, the restaurants were pretty much empty...Not at La Portena, there were locals waiting for a table! Not only is the food consistently good, the prices are very reasonable. The crispy whole red snapper is a...favorite as is the pizza. Good service, good food and good prices."

"Amazing place, in the middle of the manglar, you can see crocodiles going out of the water, food was delicious, I had tuna steak and was outstanding, I rate 4 because service was a bit slow in every aspect"

"Wow! La Gula! What a find as we walked zijua in search of dinner last night! We enjoyed an exceptional meal - starting with a little complimentary appetizer that was just a mouthful of strawberry and pate and a little fresh herb. We find wines always a challenge In Mexico but the house red was awesome and I've included a photo. To start I had a braised pear salad that was peppery and flavourful - very unique. My husband had an eggplant ravioli which was fantastic - no pasta component but an incredible tomato sauce - and I'm not even a big eggplant fan. For a main course my husband had the risotto and I had chicken stuffed with vegetables. I'm not kidding when I say "out of this world". Sorry the pix don't really do it justice. Our waitress Claudia was lovely too. We asked to pay our compliments to the chef and it turns out he and his wife own the restaurant - they came out and were very gracious. One of the finest meals we've ever had and a lovely surprise that it was very reasonably priced. Restaurant is on the second level and easy to miss but a nice breeze and a lovely saxophone player down the street made for a charming and romantic evening as our vacation draws to a close. Don't be in a rush! Service is good but you want to have plenty of time to enjoy a leisurely paced dinner."

"The view was great. Cliffside overlooking the bay. Good Italian food and very full size servings. You won't go hungry. Service was good as well. Only minor negative was that the bread was a bit bland, served hot though."
