"Marisco's seafood is not only served at the marina harbor, but at the Ixtapa Palace, the castle in limed white, across the street from Emilio's. This the best seafood with the least pretensions in Ixtapa. It is mostly frequented by people living there. There is a fish tank as you enter. The indoor dining is brightly lighted so if you want romance choose the outdoor area by the flares. The Red Snapper Vera Cruz was wonderful. My husband said the seafood platter was the best he had ever had, it had lobster, shrimp, crab, langistino with bacon, red snapper and octopus with rice and vegetables for 220 pesos, a steal."

"We are vacationing in Ixtapa, Mexico, staying in a condo in a residential area. We 've mostly been eating at tourist restaurants but decided to eat a a local, side of the road restaurant. They cater to locals. No English menus. We went on Valentines Day. They had a one man band, singing love songs. Decorations live music and great food. We had an excellent guacamole dip with chips for an appetizer. I got lobster and my Valentine got seafood in a pineapple. Both were great. I had paid 450 pesos for one lobster tail earlier in the trip, here I got two for that price. The singer added some American songs when he saw us. The locals were friendly and outgoing to welcome us, the staff attentive and professional."

"We arrived at Playa Linda and wanted to go across to the island. Chino welcomed us and offered a ride. He was not pushy or aggressive and was friendly. He chatted with us and took good care of us one we got to the island....The water taxi dock guys were overly aggressive for tips. We had beautiful pineapple drinks and a tray lunch. Beware of the bees and wasps..... Other than that, this was a cool experience. Chino made out day"

"We stayed at the Melia Hotel for 3 weeks but did not do the all inclusive so many days we walked down the beach to the Crazy Lobster either for lunch or supper. We loved their fish tacos, grilled fish or shrimp dinners, and lobster. The Mexican salsa with chips was great with drinks, too. We also liked that we could buy fresh tuna or marlin at the pier in Zihuatanejo and take it to our favorite waiter, Spiderman, who would cook it for us and provide all the side dishes for very little money. Two of us could spend an afternoon drinking, have supper and more drinks, and never spend more that $20 to $25."
