The restaurant has excellent food and the staff are very friendly. I ordered the beef salad (Nuer num tok) and the stir fried noodles (Pud kee mau), both of which were delicious and reasonably priced. I will definitely be returning in the future.

I ordered a Pad See Ew takeout from Khung Thai. Despite the broken rice noodles and slightly overcooked beef, I found it forgivable given the price of $11. It satisfied my cravings for Pad Thai and the service was fast.

We stumbled upon this restaurant two weeks ago while trying out the Delivery Hero app for a takeout order. Since then, we have returned multiple times for more delicious meals. The Pad Thai is among the best I've ever had, and their curries are very flavorful. While my partner finds some of their stir-fries to be a bit salty, I enjoy them that way. We both love their coconut rice, even though my partner usually prefers jasmine rice. The dine-in area is small and lacks air conditioning, so we now opt to order takeout and enjoy our meals in the comfort of our own dining room, especially on hot days.

Cheap and cheerful. I live in Oakleigh and drive past 3 Thai take outs to come here . even when it's just takeout I like to get something that's juuuuuust right ... Drives my boyfriend mad. <br/ <br/ Fish cakes were 5 for $5.5 , weren't too oily and just fishy enough . roti was soft, light and flaky , satay sauce was great also. love love love the pad sew eww here , glutenous rice noodles heaps of veggies that aren't drowning in dark soy like a hokkein mee with delicately stir fried egg. <br/ <br/ Duck red curry was also really flavourful and hit the spot. I normally wouldn't order duck from small takeaway shops , just because I'm no fool that expects to receive copious amounts of duck for only $13. But the duck was real duck and there was really good gamey duck flavour.<br/ <br/ All in all, Khung Thai is what you see is what you get . great value , fresh simple ingredients big flavour .

Khung Thai is a restaurant that has been a regular favorite for many over the years, but unfortunately, the quality has recently taken a hit in order to keep prices down. Some customers have noticed a decline in the quality of ingredients and cooking methods, such as the use of old oil and microwaves. Despite these issues, the Pad Thai dish has received positive reviews for its delicious flavors. Customers have also noted the friendly staff and affordable prices at Khung Thai, making it a popular spot for takeout. Overall, while there are some concerns about the declining quality, Khung Thai still offers tasty and affordable Thai food options for those looking for a quick and inexpensive meal.

This restaurant has now been banned as son thai eatery again. the pad thai was delicious with exactly the right mix of zitrus, drowned and fish sauce for me, and definitely coming back. However, we had difficulty communicating with the waitress...Times it is difficult to criticize this because it was so friendly and tried to be very helpful, but unfortunately it had no basic knowledge about allergies and thought that gluten allergy was an allergy to earth. at the end we have worked out that there were no gluten-free options for dessert, which was disappointed.

I agree that 7.90 for a diner box is cheap, but would rather pay 9- 10 and get the quality back that this restaurant had in the last 10 years. quality more customers, not hot rice on the outside and cold in the middle. microwave is bad!

We've been going for many years after starving thai and always found it super. they can either dip or take away. the furniture is utilitarian, but the friendly staff are welcoming and obligated. the essence of what is a takeaway café. is excellent. our favorite entry is the wild mushroom wonton; they are bite size and have a nice pfeffer taste. the samosa and currypuffs are not traditional. my favorite main thing is the green curry, it is full of taste and enough heat for me. I also like the jungle curry that does not have a cocose cream in it. my wife loves the larb gai (chicken mince) and the yum nuer (beef salat.) the suppers are very fillable and leave a warm feeling. it would be extremely difficult to find another Thai restaurant that is so good and has the extensive wonderful decisions like khung thai.

This is a place that i have been a regular customer of over the years and enjoyed, but the quality is on a steep decline to keep the prices down. It is such a pity as you used to be able to get one of the best Pad Thai's or diner box's in the area. Now it is low quality ingredients, old oil to cook spring rolls and microwaves to reheat old rice. speaking to the new owner/son its more about the $$$ than quality food the store previously made. I'd agree that $7.90 for a diner box is cheap but would prefer to pay $9-$10 and get the quality back that this restaurant has had over the last 10 years.Quality = more customers, not hot rice on the outside and cold in the middle. MICROWAVE's = BAD!
