Was craving Chinese food, so stopped by the first place we saw on the road. This was a big location with power-operated doors for those disabled, which I thought was great to see (majority of customers during the hour we visited were seniors with wheelchairs, canes, hand walkers, etc). Service itself was a bit cold but very efficient, our food kept popping out as we finished another. Everything tasted great and porti... View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Mr Congee:
One night we want both Peking duck and lobster, so we went to Mr. Congee. The place is quite large but also super busy. We had our Peking duck and lobster with Maggie sauce. They were just average - nothing wrong, but also not impressing. View all feedback.
The food at this restaurant is fantastic and looks just like the pictures on the menu! The service, however, is terrible and disorganized. Once you manage to get the waiter’s attention, though, everything is fine and they will attend to your needs promptly. They offer great family-style meals for large groups, with delicious congee options like the salmon congee. One of my favorites is the jellyfish with shredded chicken and cucumbers.
Enjoyable first visit. Recently renovated and reopened (previously Regal Palace). We stopped in for dinner and ordered way too much food but we enjoyed everything. Items we will definitely reorder again, Peking duck, spice pepper pork chops (M13), wontons (D1), curry noodles (H31), beef noodles (H27), pork green beans (Q9), chilli turnip (R7). Ok dish but probably wont reorder fish bean hotpot (P7).
Pretty decent Chinese cuisine with reasonable prices. Portion was good and food served hot. Good customer service. The server Jason was very helpful and attentive. The only concern was the food came out in 20-30 minutes. The wait time to get the table was also long.
Mr. Congee in Richmond Hill, a neighborhood with a large Asian population, lives up to the standards of Chinese cuisine. My family and I visited on a Wednesday night, with the restaurant only half-full. The food was delicious, though I did find the fried squid to be a bit too salty. The hostess seated us near the exit, so we felt a draft whenever someone left the restaurant. Our dining experience wasn't perfect, but the service was fast and friendly overall.
Reasonably priced Chinese cuisine. The grilled squid is really good and big. Yummilicious !
