"After a recommendation we visited the Black Swan with friends from Adelaide Australia to appreciate great Yorkshire pub food. How disappointing after ordering our food we were overcharged, and the explanation was that the menu had not been updated. Then the food arrived and the real disappointment hit home Beef stew Horseradish dumplings absolutely tasteless) Beer Ale pie overcooked tasteless with gravy like brown glue) Haddock fish cakes with plain salad Tasteless to say the least. On a positive note the Gammon steak was really good. Not really the memory we hoped for our friends to take back to Adelaide. York must remember complacency is a terrible thing."
