What User doesn't like about The Dinner Plate Family Restaurant:
This place used to have the BEST scallops in town, not sure what has happened but this has changed. On our last two visits we had the scallops as we always do and they tasted "fishy". Certainly not the fresh tasting scallops that were there with every visit when the former owner had it. View all feedback.
Excellent restaurant. Pleasant staff and delicious food. The lobster poutine was amazing. Clean. Nothing fancy- just good food recommended by the locals.

Like so many places that we have visited in the Maritimes, our waiter was quick and friendly and had huge plates of food in front of us in no time. The food was substantial in volume and hearty in taste, with breading that was light as a feather. They have a great diner menu and great warm conversation, even for tourists like us. Highly recommended if you'd like to experience the local culture.
Best fried seafood I had in Nova Scotia! All the locals eat here. Not a high-end place -- just great seafood, friendly service, and nice folks
Stopped here today for lunch..had the haddock bitea and fries for $6.99!! There was soooo much food I had to take some to go! It was soooo soooo sooo good...the pastries and baked goods looked absolutely incredible..all home made...the staff were wonderful, accomodating, helpful and very pleasant...i got an apple pie and that was too die for...def will be frequenting this spot on my NS family vacations!
We were taken to the Dinner Plate by a group of local friends. The food is very fresh and good, prices are very reasonable, and the service is great. Portions are large. Menu has classics- burgers, salads, seafood, comfort food. Not a fancy place, but a great place to eat.
