Contribute Feedback Was Demis Valentini at Hiro Sushi a mag?
I tried the sage creek roll that previously got rave reviews and was not disappointed. The other rolls were pretty good too. Edamame beans were overcooked. Service was a bit slow even though we showed up right after the place opened for lunch and were the only customers there for a while. View all feedback.
What Florence McDermott dislikes about Hiro Sushi:
Probably the worst sushi place in the South end. They don't answer the phone - had to come in to order. While I was there the phone rang non-stop and no one bothered to answer, and yes, they had free staff but just decided to ignore the phone. Waiting time - when ordered a pick-up I was told the waiting time is about an hour (really?). Came back after 1h 15m and had to wait for another 40 minutes for my order.Rolls -... View all feedback.
I can not say enough about how good the sushi is here. The volcano roll is something I find myself craving far too often. Everything my boyfriend and I visit we are treated so well and the food is fresh and delicious. Reading the few...More

The Sage Creek roll is a must! SO good. This sushi place is at the top of my list, staff are friendly, everything is made fresh with quality ingredients.
I was impressed by the size and amply filled rolls. We went for a quick lunch and the service was great, the prices were very reasonable and the rolls were delicious and were presented beautifully. We did have to wait a bit for the food, but the quality made up for it. The restaurant is new and very clean and spacious. Recommend!
I've had takeout a few times since Hiro first opened. There's not doubt the restaurant had some growing pains in the first few weeks, but they seem to have figured it all out now and are consistently pumping out delicious sushi! I think what I like best is their collection of unique and special rolls. Beyond the usual California and Bakudan, this place has a good list of rolls you will only get here (highly recommend Sage Creek roll, Riding Mountain roll, and Double Salmon roll). If you like good quality sushi, this is a restaurant worth trying. The price is definitely on the higher side, so be warned that this is no cheap Japanese restaurant. You get what you pay for, right?
