Best sushi in the Vancouver area by far. Tojo 's has nothing on this. 'Nuff said. See for yourself. I can close my eyes and randomly point to anything on the menu and be contemplating getting seconds. I chew till the sushi disintegrates in my mouth because I never want it to end. View all feedback.
What None of Y doesn't like about Zen Japanese Restaurant:
I took a friend here because of the TripAdvisor ratings..... and ended up covering my head in shame when she insisted on paying..... for average food at outrageously high prices! An Unagi Don (bland tasteless) in a PLASTIC box for 26 ? Are you kidding? I don't mind paying the extra for food that makes my taste buds tingle and dance.... but that was not the case here.... this was one of the most BORING (and definitely... View all feedback.
I loved every bite of the food at this restaurant. The food, ambience, and service were all fantastic. I would love to visit more often if it wasn't so expensive.
This restaurant is a hidden gem that I would not have discovered if it weren't for Dine Out. While the entrance may not be the most attractive, the interior offers a completely different dining experience. Unlike Bistro Sakana which we visited last night, the food here is nicely executed and the ambiance is welcoming. The appetizers, such as the fried lobster roll and fried scallop and crab cakes, were generously portioned and flavorful. The entrees, including the nigiri sushi and miso sea bass, were fresh and presented beautifully. Desserts like the warm brownie with ice cream and matcha tart were equally delicious. The service was excellent, even with a full house. Overall, the restaurant offers great food with generous portions and we can't wait to return, especially to enjoy the patio seating during the summer months.

Keep it simple and it's worth the price.. Our appetizers were not that appetizing but the nigiri and a simple salmon/avocado roll were extremely fresh. Toro had that melt in your mouth texture without being chewy or rubbery. Outstanding. Sake list is decent but pricey. Asahi on tap is the way to go. We went for a late lunch so service was attentive. We were already in West Vancouver so it was convenient and since it's down the road a bit from all the shops it's much easier to park.
BEST OF VANCOUVER. The best sushi I have ever had, 'nough said.Very fresh and amazing service.
