Sushi 99 - Waterloo

Menu is meh, food is meh; typical rude, unfriendly AYCE service. Waaay over priced for the food we rec'd and 'service'.

I have been going here for years and even with a change in management this year its still my FAVOURITE local sushi place. I far prefer the menu offerings for dinner as lunch is limited. Still a unique but favourite is the Toronto Roll. I was in this evening after having been away for business for some time and the cashier said "Welcome Back we haven't seen you in awhile" recognizing your customers is a good sign of service.

After frequenting this place almost weekly for 6 months we began to notice changes in their service and food. The portions are getting smaller and the fish appears to be not as fresh. The service is also becoming unreliable as they will often misplace your order or deliver the wrong food to your table. Management does not appear to be concerned as comments to them have not changed any of the problems. While still a decent value for an all you can eat sushi, it is boarder line.

Best AYCE sushi place I've been to in Waterloo region. It cost $32/person for tax tip on a weekend dinner, but the menu was great. My favourite was the amount of sashimi that was available. Being in Waterloo they embraced using technology and started to use iPads for your orders. So you just keep ordering and they will keep bringing it to you. Very fast service. Highly recommend this place!

Horrendous service and uses illegal tipping machine to take your money and will not give you another option. Extremely rude. Rolls their eyes at you. Won't speak to you. Only speak to each other in another language. Ignores you when called over.
