"Menu had some vegan options that we not only tried there for a drink. Had a decaf oat latte that was good. It seems to be a habitable dog that was well-natured when a little stubborn in sniffs round for food."

"What a great way to end our first day in york. as we had already eaten a full meal during the day, we were just looking for some light to eat and a refreshing glass or two rose’ it is not the cheapest, but definitely worth the visit and we will be back soon. an excellent table outside on the deck with views of the river, served by amazing friendly staff, thank you."

"5* simply because I can’t leave 10! Dropped in here in desperation today Easter Saturday) after travelling around to a couple of places and not being able to get a table. Thought we were off to the Chinese in Pickering when we stopped her and asked if dogs were allowed in? Yes we were told and then did they have a table for 2? Despite being full and tables reserved they found us one, we had to wait a bit to have our order taken but they did get us drinks straight away while we waited for them to deal with the party of 8 that came in just before us. When they did take out order I went for the sirloin steak and my wife the lasagna. This was finished with apple crumble custard and hot choc fudge cake custard. We can honestly say it all was cooked to perfection. The steak I haven’t had so good in a long time even when I’ve cooked it) and the wife’s lasagna was spot on too. Puddings tasted perfect too. Lovely, small, but reasonable quite pub considering it was full. Staff were outstanding, friendly, helpful and polite apologising for our wait which considering we dropped in on the off chance was our fault not theirs. The landlord was great. Joking and making us feel at home and actually wanted. As others have said, every pub needs a landlord like this. Our only regret was it was our last night that we popped in even though over the years we’ve driven past it so many times. If you want a well cooked meal at a nice quiet county pub with good service and polite staff you don’t need to look any further. We will definitely be back here when in the area. Thank you so much to all the staff."

"I'd give more than 5 stars if I could. I cant fault anything. The food was amazing and all of it equally as good, impossible to pick a favourite dish. The service was great as well. If you are a table of two I recommend sitting up the kitchen as I enjoyed watching what the chefs were doing and seeing all the other dishes. Can't wait to go back very soon"

"Been waiting to go to Source since before they closed due to the pandemic. We've been in for a smoothie before but I'm so glad they are now open on evenings again. The staff couldn't do enough for us. Fit us in without booking and even baked rather than fried chips for my gluten free wife. On top, the food was superb, with generous portions. Thank you."
