Wow what a little gem!
I was a little hesitant in trying this place after reading some of the reviews but the kids who eat dumplings at least once a week in Melbourne convinced us to try I am so glad we went
Lovely plump perfectly fried with wafer thin skin and the boiled just as good
Laksa and hot & sour soup where a hit too
Service was ok but small tables and plates not being cleared is a little annoying View all feedback.
What Веца Пищовколева dislikes about China Town Dumpling:
ordered takeaway here last night.. serve of dumplings gross, over battered ball of meat) plus lemon chicken with special fried rice.. by special im assuming a nice serve of cigarette ash in there.. cause that's exactly what it tasted like. Had to throw it...out, money is tight at the moment, spend it somewhere else ppl.. View all feedback.
Called to try and ask if their vegetarian dumplings were vegan, the guy on the phone was very rude and did not understand when I asked him if there was milk or butter inside (he did not understand when I did not understand it ). He kept screaming on the phone, he said, he does not understand me. Grief I was looking forward to tasting your restaurant, but after this first interaction with you I would never like to go here. Grief I got up in the end and said OK, thank you and he just cuts the phone without saying anything.
I rarely go such a negative review, but tonight the food experience of tonight was really a disappointment. First, it took a long time to order, as there are 2 waiters who also support Takeaway phone orders and go into it. The significant delay in the food. 45 minutes waiting time to get dumplings! The rest of our meal came out in Dribbs and Distribs. The taste of food was mediocre and dripping in oil. I would not recommend this place to anyone. The only reason we turned here was that Mr. Umami was fully booked, and we wanted to eat dumplings. Finally, the attitude of the waiters is something to be desired. The woman tried to justify us how 30 minutes waiting for dumplings is awarded. We had to remind you that they were 45 minutes old in which they did not answer.
Maybe the worst dumplings I have ever eaten. The quality was terrible. We found that the service is quite poor. The waiter had trouble understanding us. Because of this, our order was misappropriated. We got 2 dishes we do not order. I would not eat here again.
What can I say? Great food, reasonably priced. I have never had a bad experience here and often often when I often eat and take away. If you love dumplings - go here !!!
We enjoyed the BBQ pork rolls, but would give the vanilla pudding bread and "Chinese cake" in the future. Dumplings were not the best we ever had, still they were not the worst. The chicken, the peoples and rice and Beijing duck packaging were pretty nice. We would go back, but maybe our orders change a bit next time.
