So happy to find this bakery, a good bakery has been missing from rowville ferntree gully area. We will be coming back. Great friendly service and the pies were delicious and tasted really fresh, especially enjoyed the chicken and veg pie and chunky beef. View all feedback.
What Christiana Ebert dislikes about Amelia's Bakery & Cafe:
We walked in Saturday morning, one table occupied by a few people, not much on the menu to pick from, the woman behind the counter did not acknowledge us, no Hello, nothing, we stood there for 3 to 4 minutes, nothing, walked out, went to...Belgrave, cant understand why they are so highly rated, not for the life of me. Came here for lunch, friendly staff service was very quick. The burger and toastie were delicious. Long black was fabulous (5/5) full bodied, great crema, exactly the right temperature. Chai latte was very nice too. Highly recommended!
After our hike, we decided to stop at this restaurant. The menu is straightforward and offers a variety of bread options. The portions are generous, as my large latte was compared to the size of a beer by my friend. I ordered the French toast with grilled banana, bacon, and maple syrup, and the combination of flavors was delicious. If I return for another hike, I will definitely make a point to have lunch there again, and grab some of their sourdough bread as well. It's definitely worth trying out!
Visiting Ferntree Gully area from the USA. Stopped at Amelia's and enjoyed a delicious lasagna and a jelly layered dessert. Great display of pastries. Service was above and beyond since they were closing soon. Would give them a 10 if it were possible!!
The pies at this restaurant are fantastic. My top choice is the beef and onion pie, but if it's not available, the other pies and sausage rolls make for a great alternative. I have never experienced any issues here.
I stopped by for a quick grab-and-go lunch. They also offer the option to dine in, and they have a larger selection of items for breakfast and lunch. There is a good variety of food choices, and I ended up choosing a steak and mushroom pie, which was decent. The filling had beef mince with some mushrooms mixed in. I also tried an almond croissant that was filled with a tasty custard. The pastry was a bit crumbly but denser than a traditional French croissant. Overall, it was a no-fuss experience.
