Their service is good and I always enjoy the little friendly exchanges with staff, especially Athena. The walls are lined with books to browse. I’ll be back for their...fish and chips.

Love going to Ruby's Cafe, West Street Umina. It's got a cosy, friendly atmosphere, good food and they are very reasonable. This caffe seems to be a Umina institution. nice simple eating, really nice staff and a relaxed ambiente. my sister and I stopped on a wet day at midday and fou... read more This caffe seems to be a Umina institution. nice simple eating, really nice staff and a relaxed ambiente. my sister and I stopped on a wet day at midday and found a caffe full of customers, while other restaurants on the street...leer my sister chose quiche lorraine and salad and I chose salmon with Turkish fingering. the food and salads were fresh and tasty, but their look was simple and uncut. at the arrival of the meal of my sister, the salat simply spilled on the table, no apology about it. in the did, after my meal was received my sister had to remember the waitress what she ordered and we saw how they removed the quiche from the presentation cabinet and a quickly prepared salate, which seemed to be only grounded on the teller. my meal was also a simple preparation with 5 fingering Turkish brot, some baked, some not. fresh rocket leaves around the plate lined, 4 really fresh and tasty smoked salmon parts, fresh and crispy raw wobble rings and some pieces of beet root with two large puppies of "hot 'horse cream. we enjoyed our meals. my sister ordered a flat white coffee for the end of her meal, and I had a can of dietary coke. we also had a chocolate and marshmallow disc and a citrus tart for dessert, which were very nice. my sister had to ask for her coffee at the end of her meal and explain that she had already paid for it. the staff there are warm, friendly and helpful, show best practice customer service and I think this is the reason for its popularity. my sister is a native and often there, I drove there 100 km. books could be a draw, but it was a priority for us. a popular place for a light lunch in umina.

Service staff...unsafe, who was in order or waited either to order or pay. grimy books and tables, staff not interested in serving them or up, grumpy demeanour at the theke. altogether very bad!
