I'm not a "Chinese" food fan but I love this place. I'm still working my way through the menu but so far everything I've gotten has been delicious!! The spring rolls & chicken cashews is delicious - highly recommend. My partner is a massive "Chinese" fan so we always come here & will continue to do so. :) View all feedback.
What User dislikes about Capitol Regent:
Came here with a mate to grab some what we thought was going to be not bad takeaway food, the service itself wasn't bad. What I DO NOT UNDERSTAND is how this place manages to pay their staff let alone pay the rent. This restaurant has a welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff. The prices are reasonable and there is ample parking. If you're in the mood for a delicious Chinese meal with plenty of options to choose from, I highly recommend this place.
We were looking for good sweet and sour pork and huh with good roasted rice, but we were terribly disappointed. the meals were extremely hot (microwave hot and the fried rice was burned. can pineapple in the shell and garnel in fried rice (what...if we were allergic? the service was shocking, chap just went through the movements. obviously he doesn't like his job. When we entered, we were not even greeted, they only asked for our vaccination certificate. no salt or pepper on the tables and only forks, no knives or paprika. $64 has ever spent the worst.
Over the last 30 years or so, I've encountered many restaurants who prefer one bill per table, but my experience has been that individuals could still pay their share to the cashier on departure. We were a group of 11 planning to order a banquet...at $30 a head. Whilst I had been told that it would be one bill per table, I did not expect it to be so Draconian. Firstly we were told that we could not order individual drinks. When we asked about paying by credit card, we were told that it would be one credit card for the whole transaction. Really?! In these days of computers, this is unaccceptable. Cactus Jack's which caters for young people, has been able to manage individual accounts for years otherwise they would not stay in business. Well, we left. This restaurant lost a bill for around $500 because they were lazy, showed appalling customer service and were arrogant.
Absolutely horrible, the food was disgusting and poor customer service. The chicken was undercooked and the special fried rice was horrible
The Capital Regent is one of our families favourite lunch time venues. The staff are helpful and there is a wide range of menu choices. Meals are presented nicely and are consistently prepared each visit. The service is quick as is the cooking of the...meals which we find helpful on a busy day. Why not have a fortune cookie while there. They're a fun talking point at any table.
