"The chef josh really knows his aromen, an artist with a phenomenal palette. Hubby and I had luck that a cancellation meant that we could go to my birthday and enjoy the wonderful courses. every cure is small, but this is fine eating, definitiw does not fill up stupid and regret it later, eat. each bowl is exquisitely made with aromen, which they can only imagine to watch master chefs this was my first experience here, but we have booked for februar again, we could not book in januar as they are booked solid. many thanks to josh and chloe that they set up here in bideford. please don't go and they deserve a Micheline star."

"Friendly staff, great pizza. A simple menu but all the better for that. The pear and blue cheese pizza is a must try, and is even better if you add walnuts. What an excellent find in Appledore. "I struggle to understand how this place is the 4th best rated restaurant in the Barnstaple area, as based on my visit it is mediocre at best. My feelings are coloured partly by the service which was outwardly friendly but overall fairly average and also by some oddly long wait times. As to the food, it was certainly acceptable , but the pricing is at a level that could best be described as grasping relative to what is offered. Perhaps the Castle Inn will argue their burgers are made in house, but their overly minced texture is far more representative of mass produced or frozen patties. At £16.50 the value of that is questionable despite an abundance of (relatively over cooked) chips. The fish and chips were so-so, the Mac Cheese the relative stand out. And then there is the white bait... five individual white bait on a few undressed salad leaves for £7.75 is a value proposition I would struggle with in a pub paying London rents, let alone out here. Perhaps there are limited options in this area hence the high rating ... but I have a doubt that is the case. Overall I would visit again to sup a pint in the gorgeous public bar, but I couldn 't recommend eating here."

"I rarely write reviews, except when I come across exceptional restaurants where food is being served with passion. This was one of those places. Very welcoming owner, knows what he is doing (authentic! and very thoughtful with kids. Hospitality at its finest. Food was great (true Napoli style pizza, using fresh ingredients and the small restaurants (it seats 10 only is lovely decorated. You just feel very welcomed. Great find which I can happily recommend to anyone. Kid-friendliness: A highchair was offered right away, thoughtful recommendations about food for the little one, great interaction between owner and our son. Service: Dine in Meal type: Dinner Price per person: £10–20 Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5"

"A very average meal, bits of which were not even warm by the time it arrived. gammon was however very nice. As long as you keep expectations to a pub restaurant you'll be fine."
