A comprehensive overview of reviews for the restaurant highlights mixed experiences regarding the vegan options, service, and pricing. While some customers enjoyed the vegan pizza with beautiful sea views, others found the staff to be slow and inattentive. The atmosphere was generally praised, but the limited vegan choices and relatively high prices were noted. Positive comments were made about the fresh seafood and friendly staff, particularly staff members Harry, Joe, and Raf. The restaurant offers a great view of the harbor from the first floor and is known for its fresh fish options, slowly cooked crispy pig, and pizza pasta selections. Despite some service issues, customers overall enjoyed their dining experience and found the value to be good for the quality of food offered.

Was Tony Marshall at On the Rocks a mag?
Lovely restaurant! Went here last night to celebrate my early birthday and had such a wonderful experience. Wait staff was friendly, professional, and helpful. My husband and I shared the chateaubriand steak and it was to die for. So tender and cooked to perfection (medium rare). Lovely wine selection and great location over looking to sea. Would def recommend! View all feedback.

What VeganAnnaS dislikes about On the Rocks:
Visited on an evening with a special menu so the vegan choices for the mains were limited to two types of linguini. Nice atmosphere but service was mixed some of the staff were particularly helpful and welcoming, others dismissive. It is a restaurant rather than cafe so relatively pricey for what it is £15 for a bowl of no terribly exciting pasta). Good location close to the seafront. View all feedback.

The vegan pizza was very nice with nice sea front views, but staff were a little slow and completely forgot to bring us drinks. We had to ask to get the table wiped clean after previous people left and weren’t looked after once the food had come despite it being quite empty not busy. For the price you pay, you can probably find places with more vegan options and more on it attentive staff. Updated from previous review on 2022-07-12

Such a beautiful location! Views of the ‘English Riviera’ which, if you’re blessed with a warm summer evening, doesn’t get much better than that! Although the vegan options are slim (two starters and two mains options) my goodness they are delicious! We chose the crispy coconut bites for our starters and they were mouth-wateringly good. Perfect balance of textures and flavours. For our main we chose the rigatoni although I was tempted by the cashew cigars! Pasta was top quality. Creamy and flavourful with lots of curious ingredients that worked well together. Red peppers, mushrooms, thyme, basil oil, crispy chickpeas in a cashew cream sauce. It almost shouldn’t work but absolutely did? We’ve since been cooking a variation of it at home! Unfortunately no vegan dessert options which is a shame, although the other dishes are so filling we didn’t have room for one anyway!

Have been sitting here on Christmas. eating was excellent and the decorations were beautiful. a real effort had gone into this. the service was a bit slow, although this could have been because it was christmas. they would go back and bring our friends here.
