My 2nd time at the Spread Eagle, even more disappointing than the first. I stayed in room 11 I believe it was, where the nearest wall socket to the bed is on the opposing wall near the bathroom. Where there is barely any cold water from the sink and where the shower head is millimetres above my head and I'm only 5ft 10 on a good day. The owner tends to regurgitate the same excuses when replying to these reviews reckoning that being a 16th century building it will have some quirks. A poor justification for inadequate rooms. The £34 steak I had for my tea was pretty terrible. If it was about a third of the price I'd be half impressed. The location is really handy though, a stones throw from some restaurants serving some proper food.

Organised my birthday party at the Spread Eagle, Thame. It is the first time I have used the hotel. A huge big thanks to Erica and the team for all the help, advice and support. A great success, food plentiful and brilliant, function room lovely and staff couldn’t do enough for you. Big shout out to our lovely disco man Dave Cato. Professional, great set up, helpful and an all round lovely person. Thanks DaveCDJ, will definitely be calling you again.

Old rooms, expensive Maximum value should be arround 50 pounds. That’s for location and decent breakfast.

I don't normally write a negative review but this meal was such a disappointment. Lovely staff, nice decor statement building.. but.. the menu was limited. They ran out of chicken and most of the menu was chicken. There is a supermarket nearby so no excuse there. They charged 15 for a salad of feta, onion and tomato and the soup was basically Ratatouille. Hopefully this was just a blip but I would ask some questions before I ever went back!

Overall, The Spread Eagle is a fair option with okay food, service, and ambiance. While the rooms are nice, there may be a lack of atmosphere compared to other local pubs. Some guests were disappointed with the tea service for a special occasion and may not return. However, the hotel is praised for its friendly staff, clean and quirky garden rooms, and convenient location in the middle of Thame's high street. Some minor issues were noted with amenities and service, but overall it offers great value and a comfortable stay in a central location with plenty of nearby activities and dining options.

Booked a 2 night stay using secret Escapes. Garden room was comfy and spacious and slept well. Lovely big bath although the shower head dripped all night long! Thankfully the tapas menu had been replaced with £20 each per night to spend on the evening menu. The cocktails as promised each night weren’t forthcoming but this was resolved, but it’s a shame the staff aren’t aware of what has been offered in the first place. Service was a little hit and miss with inexperienced staff. Breakfast was a good choice. There is no parking on-site but hotel can help with where to park. Parking on street is fine after 6pm until 10am the next day. Sainsburys near by offer 2 hours free parking. Thame is a lovely market town with lots of places to eat and drink and would probably next time opt for b b and eat elsewhere in the evening. Rooms: Tea and coffee provided with biscuits. Hairdryer, Fan and heater. Limited toiletries provided Walkability: Right on high street Food drinks: No good bitters served. Some beers and wine had run out

Attended a wedding here and was shocked we had to pay £5 for car parking!! If you are attending a function I do not find it acceptable to have to pay for parking at the venue.

As the assessment suggests, everything was fair. OK food, ok service, ok ambience, something sterile. Nothing to distinguish this place from many others. Nice room, but we were the only table. All other pubs were dug, maybe this shows the lack of atmosphere?

I had arranged this tea for my mother's birthday, it was a renunciation because the cake was not homemade and definitely bought. The tea was also served in stainless steel teapots, a nice touch to have China teapots and beautiful cups and saucers. I probably wouldn't choose the Spread Eagle again.
