Smitty's Family Restaurant - Sussex

Interested in a good brunch - this is the perfect place. Some breakfast dishes don't include the homefries so order those seperatly. Love the eggs and pancakes.

Travelling back from Fundy National Park we needed to stop for gas and food.. Driving around we spotted Smitty's. I got the chicken stirfry special and my wife got soup and salad. She liked her selection and mine was good, but the chicken lacked flavor. Service was good.

Sunday brunch. The fruit, eggs, and beans were marginally edible but not the sausages, which seemed to be made from spiced sawdust, or the biscuits, which crumbled to bits when broken open. Several sad-looking dishes not sampled. In general, an experience to remember, at roughly $26.50 for two “once only” diners.

I ordered: 1 pound of wings, dusted, flats and hot sauce on the side, what I got was: 1 pound overcooked battered, flats and drums mixed with hot sauce on the side. Before Laura left the table I asked if she understood my order and she assured me she did. When she came back with wrong order she got offensive and said sorry but that's the way we make them in which I replied if she would have said something at the start I would have ordered something else. The wings were purchased that way frozen and tasteless, I should have asked what store they bought them at. When I bit into my side dish of battered mushrooms cold water ran out all over my chin and onto the plate. On the other hand my wife had a club sandwich and said it was good. Laura needs to learn the menu and communicate better. I still left a 15% tip and the tip to m self is to never go back.

Good family restaurant with decent prices,fast service and great service, also has a motel on site, good venue for weddings and meetings
