Feedback

★ 3.5 / 5 from 23 reviews

McLeod Tavern received mixed reviews from patrons, with some experiencing disrespectful and inappropriate behavior from the bartender, while others enjoyed the atmosphere during a hockey game. The food was described as okay, though slightly overpriced. On the other hand, Metro 8 received high praise for its top-notch food, great wine list, and fantastic service, making it a favorite spot for many. The restaurant week specials were highly recommended, offering excellent value for the quality of food. Overall, while McLeod Tavern had some disappointments, Metro 8 stood out as a must-visit dining destination.

A colleague and I went for ladies night - half price food. We ordered some food and drinks - all was good. Food okay. Time to leave, asked the server to split the bill in 2. The bill came and the bill was split in quarters, weird... seemed a bit high, but we paid and were getting ready to be on our way. The server came back and said they hadn't discounted the food, to wait and they would sort it out. After 30 minutes or so, the server came back with cash to compensate the lack of discount. No consideration to the gist, or the fact that the tip was based on the entire amount. In all, we were delayed about 45 minutes and certainly not compensated appropriately. Unfortunate, as we will remember the latter part of the night.

I originally wrote a review on September 27, 2016 which categorizes this restaurant with a poor rating. Reluctantly I returned April 24th for dinner, in a hurry, and impatient. Cheyenne saved the day with her gracious service skills, smile and willingness to please. Run off her feet with 19 customers to serve in her section she delivered with excellent service as well, a male counterpart also assisted in an efficient manner. We ordered to share Calamari, separate Caesar Salads, and drinks. Excellent food and excellent service. Thank you.

Ate here as part of a business breakfast. Omelettes ere delicious and came with a choice of sides. We had salad with the most delicious dressing. Service was good up until it was time to get the bill - took forever. Overall, great location for a downtown spot. It was super busy from the time we came in all the way to when we left.

Stopped in last night for some appetizers, having the munchies after attending Winefest and was very disappointed with the place. First was with the drink orders where they had run out of Clamato juice, then to find out they'd run out of nachos, shrimp, calamari, and chorizo. We ended up ordering mini donut fondue and were told we got the last order of those. The donuts were very overdone, being very crispy and dark brown. We didn't finish. The only reason I'm giving stars at all was for our waitress, who really tried.

I went to this restaurant on two separate occasions, had the same waitress both times. Her service was terrible, the first visit the place was empty and we still barely saw her. Had people in from Toronto and it was almost embarrassing. Second visit 6 of us, almost any beer or wine we asked for they were out of. Finally just ordered a Heineken draft, was terrible! Other guest sent theirs back. For the price, the food and drinks are just abysmal. Craft is just down the street and plenty of other choices.
