Nestled in the picturesque Stockbridge, this charming restaurant offers a blend of delightful cuisine and inviting ambiance. Diners rave about the delicious bouillabaisse and clam chowder, praised for their fresh ingredients and rich flavors. While some dishes, like the pot roast and afternoon tea, did not meet expectations, the warm, friendly service and cozy fireplace create a pleasant dining atmosphere. Guests can enjoy meals on the lovely veranda or indulge in a lovely stay at the adjoining inn. Despite some inconsistencies, the restaurant is a captivating destination, particularly during the winter months, promising a memorable culinary experience.

We arrived a bit early for our reservation but were promptly seated. Our meal choices of salmon and pot pie were delicious. Our server was attentive and friendly. Very enjoyable day.

Sadly this historic place has declined to the point where we won’t return. Very understaffed. Long lines with reservations waiting to be seated (no bus boys to clean and set empty dirty tables). Quality of food has greatly declined. Chicken pot pie should be called chicken soup with a biscuit on top, capreese sandwich had grape tomatoes not even sliced, salads lacking salad dressing, entrees not delivered all at once/ we were told they accidentally gave our two salad entrees to another table, never got our artisan bread we ordered. This was the second experience like this and we are scratching this place off our dining list. Pricey for what we got and all 4 of us were very disappointed in the food and service.

Wonderful atmosphere. Love to have lunch in the bar every fall when I come to visit. Staff is courteous professional. Food is excellent.

I understand that this is a very busy season for the Red Lion Inn. The room was crowded (we were seated next to a large group with several children) so no points lost for that. It was the overall experience that lacked. We were in and out of the restaurant within an hour, the service was so rushed. The prices were very high for the food we received. I had the curried cauliflower steak. It was one slice of cauliflower roasted with out seasoning or oil which was placed on top of some curry sauce with a bit of cooked greens on the side. The plating was pretty but for $26, it was not great. My husband had the turkey dinner off the tavern menu which had a bone in the meat and was served with roasted brussels sprouts (odd choice for a turkey dinner). No bread was served, we had to ask for salt and pepper at the table. It was far from 4 star rating we were expecting for our anniversary dinner. The atmosphere was nice, the wait staff were pleasant but rushed service coupled with lackluster food was not worth the price paid.
