I grew up here and there was never much to choose from for local breakfast spots, so I was excited to see Rise & Shine open when I visited last.

"This is the second time we've eaten at Cheddar's scratch kitchen the first time was it Roanoke Virginia, and it was excellent. The cheddar scratch kitchen and Cookeville Tennessee was also excellent the food was prepared exactly the same way as the other restaurant I would highly recommend visiting this establishment"

"This is a great place to eat. The food and service is always good. Sitting at the Hibachi table is an extra treat. It is very entertaining to watch and fun to do with friends, family or as a couple. The house ginger dressing is very tasty. I recommend the Hibachi Steak. They will cook it just the way you like it. The sushi is also very good and always a good choice of an appetizer. I recommend the spicy crab and shrimp tempura. I would go back here time and time again. I highly recommend trying it when you catch yourself in Cookeville!"

"I just finally added photos this week. I ate there *before* corona. This review is not current I haven't been since then. Went Saturday, Most of it was excellent a few items weren't great. There were a few things that were older (don't remember everything, majority was good . Pepper shrimp wasn't pleasant, egg rolls I think were a bit stale. Off of the cold bar the cantaloupe was getting that tinge of going bad flavor and the cream puffs were actually really gross I'm not sure why. Might've just been old but I had to spit it out. (Not that'll be gross every time might be great fresh Coconut shrimp, hibachi steak and the fake crab meat was very tasty (I think it was in the butter shrimp section actually, still very good imo. Husband really liked the sesame chicken, coconut shrimp, sweet and sour chicken even though it was nearly too much breading and the cream cheese wontons. I liked the sushi section and the dumplings as well. Teriyaki chicken was a little under marinated but it was really juicy unlike other buffets when its like jerky. Because of a few older foods and a few gross ones 4/5 Definitely worth the trip and price, we'll be back. (I'll post pictures next time!"
