Crown On Palmer - SOUTH TOWNSVILLE

We went on the townsville cup day and it was booked out, our food and service was good and the staff worked hard and all was good BUT the smoke arena is just out side on deck and was the soft wind blows all that smoke in to restaurant and that was a big turn off we had young children with us and we choose to get up and go and as we went down stairs we got the full smoke in our faces, Will not return here until they do something like other place and have smokes away from eating arenas

Crown on Palmer is my go to place when i visit townsville. Prices are very competitive and the food has always been amazing every time. Staff are attentive and nothing is too much to ask. Great pizzas and pasta. Love love love the dessert. Will be back for sure

Excellent lunch here recently with friends. Table service for drinks was a hit and service was great in general. For $13 I had a nice rump, chips and lovely salad and sauce if you wanted. The calamari was nice also. Pleasant atmosphere and kids' room is in view of eatery through glass door which my friend's daughter liked. We'll definitely be back.

Went there on a Sunday for lunch and twice, the drink order was wrong. Then ordered chicken with prawns, chips and vegies. Meal came with salad and vegies, no chips, so asked the grumpy waiter for my chips and he returns with a bowl of old, cold chips that looked ,like they were scraped off the floor. Chicken was dry, over cooked and minuscule. The prawns were so small, it was a waste of time putting them on the plate. Dreadful meal and nothing like the ad that is running on tv at the moment.

It's hard to believe this venue has so many bad reviews. It is in a great location, reasonable decor and plenty of people around. Yet sadly I can't rate the food above a 2. Huge meal but just no love in the food whatsoever. Salad looked like it was prepped a week ago, the chicken cooked several times or by someone who has no idea how to cook chicken. The chips - well???Great bar , great staff but the food really lets this venue down badly. Just not worth taking the risk it might get better.
