Sioux Lookout Golf and Curling Club Restaurant

If you're seeking a fantastic, budget-friendly breakfast in Kenora, this hidden gem is the place to go. The service was excellent and the food, especially the bacon and eggs, was perfect. I highly recommend it.

Last week, we tried a hamburger at this restaurant. The burger was juicy and incredibly tasty with great toppings. Although the kitchen was about to close, the friendly cook happily prepared it for us. It was a delightful surprise during these difficult times.

I arrived on Sunday, June 16 at 2:00. The restaurant was empty. The waitress talked about her phone or didn't do anything. I waited more than 5 minutes for her to approach. Finally, I had to get up and ask for a glass of water and the menu. Then the waitress told me to order directly from the kitchen. I was very hungry, so I had no choice but to order from the kitchen. The waitress kept doing nothing. The food was good by Sioux Lookout Standard, but not good enough of any standard in a city. The cook was very nice, but what kind of restaurant did customers order directly from the cook? Maybe it's because of my race, my non-local look, or the restaurant doesn't care because it will always have shops from the locals because of lack of less terrible restaurants? Restaurants like these should not be in business.

At the suggestion of my daughter, who lives in Sioux, we went to this restaurant on a sunny day. The restaurant is on the second floor and I am uncertain when there is an elevator for the disabled. The terrace outside is very...big, but there were only three parasols for the tables. I found it interesting that the bar is managed by the golf course and has its own waiting staff, while the restaurant is run by another owner with its own waiting staff. If you pay your bill after a drink alcohol, you will have to pay two bills at two different locations in the restaurant. Not a big deal, but be warned that you have two different servers. Our food was good and hot and price fair for Sioux. The Asian part of the menu is a beautiful change and the dish that one of us had was very good. There is plenty of space here as it is built for tournaments and banquets, so you can always find a chair either inside or outside. The view from the terrace over the golf course, if very nice and relaxing.

This restaurant has the best Asian stir fry in town. The portion is almost too much to eat. It has lots of fried chicken,lots of fresh vegetables and rice. it is all freshly prepared and comes nice and hot. They also serve a big cup...of bottomless coffee for only $1,50 a cup for sure the cheapest cup of coffee in Sioux Lookout and probably anywhere else as well. The cook and waitress always have a nice smile and are happy to serve you.
