"Best meal we’ve had during our Chicago stay. Great food, cozy atmosphere and friendly service. I had the rack of lamb and my wife had the duck. Really liked the house cab. Very reasonable prices. Definitely will be back!"

"There wasn't that many people there but the service was slow. The wings were super small for the price and tasted ok. The drinks were definitely better, order water first if you want some. I'm still waiting for my glass of water lol."

"I’ve checked out in person at least 6 luxury buildings in DC, and it doesn’t get better than the District! The location is incredible for social activity (there are new wine bars and beer gardens opening up regularly) and for pets (there’s a vet directly opposite the building and a dog park a couple minutes away)! The building is also the most chic of any luxury building here (elegance and sleekness is the vibe, from the lobby through the rooms to the rooftop even). What’s more, the building is run by the most helpful and effective staff, from management (e.g., the fabulous Brooke, the sociable Kyle) to concierge (e.g., Melvin) and staff (e.g., Benny). Throughout our stay, they’ve been attentive to every request and exuded warmth and welcome whenever I encountered them in the lobby or elsewhere. For personal reasons, we have to move out earlier than planned, and they have been utterly gracious in helping us take these next steps during these uncertain times. In short, you’d be crazy to live anywhere else!"

"After two visits to The Commons, I'm ready to add this place to my regular restaurant roster. Located on the ground floor of an apartment building close to downtown, parking was easy to find-either in the circle driveway in front of the building or on the street. Once I entered, I thought I had stepped back about 50 years or so . I cannot accurately describe the decor except to say it's sort of retro but not retro. Maybe my grandmother's living room/kitcen is a better description. Call it what you want, the food is great. The following items were ordered during my two visits. a. Burger. Excellent with very nice flavor. As the burgers are thinner and served with two patties, you don't see what I call a true media rare but there was still some pink and a very nice taste. Fries are excellent as well. b. Roasted beet salad. My wife is a s for anything with beets and this did not disappoint. Nice greens and the tarragon vinigerette was very good. c. Fried Chicken Parm-Red pepper tomato sauce and fresh mozzarella added to the enjoyment of this sandwich. d. Prime Rib sliders. I saw these when I had my burger and said I'd try them when I return. a great combination of prime rib, haystack onions and horseradish cream (didn't get the cheese) with au jus to dip. Service was excellent both times. Happily awaiting any next visit!"

"When no other place was open without a wrist band or some other restriction or closing down, this place was open and welcoming. Yes, you could barely fit as super bowl really packed them in. It was also the first place I was able to get a beer and watch the game in a festive atmosphere. Great bartenders, even under that kind of stress! Polite staff as well."

"Came here last night, had a great time! It was a nice speak easy with amazing staff. Our bartender was knowledgeable and helped us select drinks that fit our preference. The cocktails are well balanced as well as priced appropriately! The ambiance is amazing, you walk through a brick door and step into an underground bourbon room style space. Nice low lighting and mostly quiet setting to spend time with friends or a partner. Parking is difficult since it is U street but the metro stop is close by. Overall, highly recommend it!"
