"It occurred to me soon after sitting down that the hostess who cordially seated me (very) soon came back to take my order. As I waited for my food, which not incidentally came very quickly, it occurred to me this same young man, named Eric, was not just the hostess and server he was busing his tables too. As I told him, I 've seen servers just waiting for 2 3 tables offer much poorer service, and they had busers and hostesses helping them. He was doing it all he was doing it calmly and he was doing a great job. In the age of COVID, staff shortages have become the norm, and I know of entire swaths of restaurants that have closed their in house seating, not because of the pandemic, but because they can ' hire any help. This trend is impacting every industry too, from Airlines to Zoos, and typically our service suffers as a result. And then we have Eric, doing 3, maybe 4 jobs; all with great speed and a smile on his face. My only advice to Shari 's is to pay people like Eric at least double the hourly rate you pay him now since you 're asking him to do the work of 3 4 people. If you don 't, you can bet he will soon get scooped up by some other employer that sees his true worth. Oh yeah, and the food was great too..."

"My family has been here for years. We are Thai food fanatics, and Village Thai is one of the few Thai restaurants south of Portland that consistently carries excellent food. Cashew Chicken Ironing and Panang Curry Chicken are our favorites. We lived here for 16 years and eat there about three times a month. I just did the mathematics... in over 500 times we were in Thai Village we've never been disappointed."

"Another great McMenamins but certainly a very unique one. We felt very comfortable eating in as there wasn?t a lot of people on a Thursday night and everything seem clean. The place has a lot of history and it feels very ?portland? and artistic, they sell little souvenirs, whiskies, etc. The service is great as they go out of their way to please you. I personally like the fact that each restaurant is so different. Now to the food, food is tasty and each restaurant has something local or seasonal that is very unique. We have been to this specific restaurant a few times and have never been disappointed, the only thing we noticed today was that portions seem smaller than previous times. The kids sliders seem smaller and so did the gyro, regardless we were full by the end of our meal. We will return."

"We visit alaska and decided to stop here for a decent meal on the way to the airport, as we are sick by Fast Food during the trip. The place is understaffed, but very hard to work to accommodate customers. The waitress was very friendly, helpful and marvelous. The food was really good and the price was right. This was my first visit to this restaurant and I will definitely return when I am back in the Portland region."
