"Visited twice this week, once in the evening and once at lunchtime. Food excellent quality and love the bread and spreads that come when you have ordered. Service efficient and friendly, surroundings quietly understated. Will certainly call again when in Whitley Bay area. Can recommend the happy hour menu (ample for lunch) and also the evening menu for two people."

"We had a lovely evening at a special event for local artists to raise money for the RNLI. They serve st Mary's vodka which is a plus for me. Very friendly and helpful staff. Just had a lovely lunch"

"Went here for a spur of the moment choice. Sunday lunch was absolutely beautiful. Full of flavour and enough to fill your tum even if it didn't look much at first. Got one beef brisket, one pan fried chicken breast both with mash (spring onions I side was a very tasty surprise), large Yorkshire pudding and a separate tray of veg for us to share which was the usual roasties, swede mash, spinach, cauliflower, broccoli and extra gravy. One coke, one lemonade. All for £30. Sat outside in the sun and service was quick too."

"Nice little cafe above fish shop, lovely staff and fish and chips spot on, they have a cheap pensioners special, but if you prefer cod worth paying the extra for regular cod and chips, very nice."

"First time here for a while, looked busy which is normally a good sign. Wife had chicken sizzler fajitas, unfortunately the chicken was very dry and not succulent at all. I had the mixed grill sizzler, the bed of onions were saturated with fat and the egg undercooked, the rest was fine but would have preferred home made chips instead of frozen! The menu has a great choice of food, maybe the wrong choice at the wrong time, the mince and dumplings on another table looked delicious. The portions are large by todays standards which for me is on the plus side."
