"Visited during Goth Weekend and requested a coffee and a pint, to which the young staff member laughed- “we don’t do hot drinks” he smirked. No apology or excuse, just an abrupt “what do you want?” Several women at the table next to us left because there was no coffee so I bravely asked another older member of staff if their was any hot drinks, he too was short in his response- “no!” Our food was good, fresh meat although the frozen veg was a let down. We visit the town several times a year but won’t be revisiting The Dolphin."

"Having bought a house recently near this pub I thought it would be ideal, it has lovely views, it’s clean and the bar staff and landlord are lovely! Shame to say the landlady let’s the whole pub down, she’s rude and clearly is only wanting...locals in (if your a tourist definitely avoid this place unless you want to feel degraded) it also isn’t child friendly, twice I’ve been in where the bar staff and landlord has been really friendly with the kids and when they’ve got up and we’ve said to sit back down the staff have told us not to worry and let them play however the obnoxious landlady has came along and shouted at us and the kids! And apparently what she says goes even when the local people were walking all over the place…. She also picks when to follow covid rules asking different families to share a table so she can fit her locals in"

"Lovely hotel and the rooms were nice and clean the staff were really helpful and friendly , lovely view of the harbour ,very nice breakfast it is very loud the music on sat night as it live band , but we excepted that as its a sat night in town centre bar so if you don’t like loud music it not for you on weekend but didn’t bother us and my little boy slept through it so wasn’t problem for us we be coming back next year we really enjoyed our stay thanks to all the staff there"

"A beautiful meal in a very lively little restaurant. we had to wait a long time until our food arrived, we were not concerned about it, because we had served our drinks quickly and we were for a relaxed evening, so we were happy to chat and take them into the atmosphere of the restaurant. once we got our food wow it was wonderful and surpassed the description on the menu. the eating was exceptional and hot pierced. we had no appetizers so had space for pudding and were so glad that we also had the same high standard and tasty. we really enjoyed our meal and the evening."

"We ordered chicken tikka and had to ask for the dips, gammon and chips came with fries. The naan bread was cold and straight out of the packet and the popadom was soft and tasted out of date. There was a shortage of staff during cigarette breaks."
