"As we were staying in the hotel that houses the restaurant, we paid for half board and had breakfast and dinner there. Breakfast was simple with scrambled eggs on the menu every day. There were cereal, croissants, ham etc. Dinner style was fine dining, a four course menu. We had veal, chicken, fish for mains on 3 different days. Overall standard of food is okay but not great."

"Stopped for desert at this wonderful old hotel on the way back to our AirBnB. We got there quite late, just before closing, but the staff was friendly and accommodating. We ate out on the balcony -- highly recommended -- and enjoyed the views."

"We had the surprise dinner and have to say the quality of the food alone is worth the five stars.It was truly an added bonus that when the bill arrived we had to very carefully check that all items were included as we were sure they had left something off.My only criticism would be that there was too much food served. We had asked for the three course meal, yet four savory courses were served and we had to stop before we even got to desert. This and also that there are no matching wine selection - this makes choosing wine difficult if you do not know what dish you will be eating (hence "surprise"). But these are small issues negated by the quality of food and price.We will definitely visit again."

"We are here for dinner twice at our two-day stay in Lauterbrunnen. It had the most vegan options on a clearly selected menu. The staff was helpful and friendly and the food was delicious. There are not many options in the city for a vegan dinner and we have it here so much we came in the second night. It is nice to have other options than a veggie burger that seems to be the mass of the city. I loved her lentil stew."

"The food was delicious and cooked with love and the service was excellent ! the only bad thing is they close Monday and Tuesday and I was leaving in Wednesday ! and I have question ..why you don't put napkins on the tables ?"

"When busy , hard to find a place. Best is the tomhawk steak, but not every time available . I am quite sad that now it is closed due to lock down Jan 2021"

"Hotel Schonegg is a wonderful hotel to use when you get to Wengen. Its located spitting distance from the train station. The people working here are very helpful and friendly. Just outside is a supermarket for the stuff the kids need !"
