"Great outdoor deck. We had the steak on the hot stone. It was delicious and came with 3 sauces. Unique and perfectly done. My son didn't enjoy his burger but I think that was because it was swiss cheese. Go figure."

"Just spent a wonderful night here. My wife and I hiked up from Grindelwald to Kleine Scheidegg, arriving just after 5pm (check in is up to 6.30pm We were given a really warm welcome by the lovely lady in the restaurant, and shown to our...room. It rained for the last part of our journey so we arrived looking like drowned rats. If this fazed her at all she certainly didn't show it. After a quick drink (for rehydration purposes : we grabbed a shower. The washrooms are communal, but split male/female, and showers are in individual cabins. Shower gel (in sachets and soap are provided. Everything was clean and the facilities looked in good condition. There was plenty of hot water too, just what I needed. There is a drying area in the corridor outside the washrooms where you can hang your wet clothes. My wife and I had reserved a double room, this came with towels and face cloths. I seem to remember that in the dormitory accommodation you need your own, or at least can rent towels. The restaurant is fantastic, my wife and I both chose Rostis, she had the Rosti with fried egg, I had the Eiger Rosti with Alpine Cheese and Bacon. We really did not need anything after that. They were very filling. I can also recommend the Swiss Merlot!! Breakfast is buffet style with a good selection of breads, cold meats, cheese, and cereals. All washed down with quality swiss coffee. This was my 3rd visit to Berghaus Grindelwaldblick, it has remained consistantly excellent. I will certainly return again."

"So, let's start with the food. The sandwiches were great. Also, the pastries and chocolates very good. But, I'm guessing when you are the only bakery in town, your staff don't have to worry about customer service. I was afraid to come in a 2nd...time, because we were treated so rudely the first time. And I live in New York. I'm used to bad customer service. But alas, the 2nd and 3rd time (because, hey, this is the only bakery in town) the service was once again terrible. It's like she couldn't believe she had to serve you. As a long-time Trip Advisor reviewer, this is the first time I have been critical about a business. I take this role seriously."

"We stopped in here for lunch on one of our days in the area and thoroughly enjoyed the casual experience of having a pizza and a glass of wine."

"We had the surprise dinner and have to say the quality of the food alone is worth the five stars. It was truly an added bonus that when the bill arrived we had to very carefully check that all items were included as we were sure they had left something off.My only criticism would be that there was too much food served. We had asked for the three course meal, yet four savory courses were served and we had to stop before we even got to desert. This and also that there are no matching wine selection - this makes choosing wine difficult if you do not know what dish you will be eating (hence "surprise"). But these are small issues negated by the quality of food and price. We will definitely visit again."

"We stayed two nights at the hotel and ate in restaurant both nights. If you are sat in the conservatory part of the dining room the views are to die for and the staff were very helpful and friendly. Unfortunately the food was not quite so good. The menu was exactly the same both nights and the dessert menu was one of those printed picture ice cream sundae menus but they had stuck a piece of paper inside with two homemade additions the nut tart being one and that was good. As to the rest of the menu my husband and I shared a mixed salad to start which was large but not overly interesting, tinned red beans, tinned corn and lots of lettuce. For main course I chose the healthy option of chicken skewers. This came according to the menu with herb butter, well mine was a very salty frozen solid lump which tasted nasty and artificial. It came accompanied by the same large salad. Mashing a little softened butter with some herbs and maybe a little garlic would have improved this dish so much, not a big deal to make either. The second night I had racketeering and this came as a flat plate of melted cheese with a few boiled potatoes on top. Not very exciting. We have eaten in the Alps before and had dishes like Tartiflette which is so much more interesting. My husband tried the Rossi and said it was ok but rather oily. I feel that even by Swiss prices this was not really good value for money as the bill was not cheap. It was only saved by the view and friendly waitresses. Shame such a beautiful venue does not quite measure up."
