"Yummy chips but hands down worst potato cakes ever. I dont quite know what it is.... fish is nice but the batter completely ruins it. The batter this place uses is very thick and for this reason is undercooked at times.I used to live around the corner and for some reason kept coming back. I stopped by last week after not eating from here for many months and it is still the same."

"Very friendly service. Menu is eclectic but mostly Italian inspired with woodfired pizza, then steak, battered fish and some Nepali dishes also on the menu. All the meals were tasty, lost a star as the steak was well done instead of medium rare. However we were on a tight time line to ensure we could catch the train back to Melbourne and the staff were very accommodating. Have Carlton Draught and Great Northern on tap and you usual pub and restaurant drinks list."

"Ordered two curries massaman was super watery and bland, the worst iv ever had by country mile... the red prawn curry was watery, flavour was below par and the prawns smelt off-white ... took the risk and ate them tasted ok but see what happens . Was later in the evening so perhaps they added water to the curries.. but that’s super dodgy and charging people 50 for that quality of food is honestly P-poor. Curry puffs were actually real good tho. First time I’ve ever left a review but it was that bad it warrants one. Hopefully this was just an off night . Peace out! A town!"

"We had a meal here midweek. The service was fantastic. It was our first time to the vine hotel (and won't be our last relaxing peaceful atmosphere , very welcoming staff. We'll priced meals. I am gluten free and they catered to me and were attentive and I didn't feel like I was being a nuisance. The decor takes you back in time with fond memories of childhood and my grandparents era. Highly recommend."

"After seeing the sign in front of the tavern advertising new owners and a new chef we decided to give the tavern another go. The last time we visited the meal was just average, but, wow, what a change! The meals were very generously sized...and tasted great. I had the vegetarian strudel off the specials board and it was very enjoyable. The service was friendly and efficient too. Will definitely be back."

"If you want decent Chinese food without any fuss this is the place to go. The décor, if you're dining in, is pretty plain but the food, especially the seafood combination. Service is friendly and again unfussed."
