"Lots of parking, cute outside, then arrival in.... beautiful! but has a lot of potential. Of the other 5 tables (which were obviously local)... but no problem. Starters were 11/out of 10, really good, I had potato curry soup with shrimps that was really good 16.50chf, but it was worth... my Nabeby had TATAR! FANTASTIAN!!!! and we received a beautiful bread with THE MOST AMAZING stein Pilze butter.... that was beautiful, so we thought that this will be sooooooooo good... but NO! Main course came... I had what I always had to test a new restaurant Schnitzel / Pommes, and that was, I'm so sorry to say, but THE WORST in 20 years that I had in Switzerland the most dry schnitzel, scattered on 1mm thick, with I think it was bread crumbs, but it tasted like cardboard! and WIE, How can you make BAD frits inside, but these were so brown! My Nabeby's liver/rosti has okay, nothing major, but edible.... I expressed my disappointment at the waitress and, as usual in Switzerland, my criticism was considered PERSONAL INSULT and we were then rewarded with NULL service. The main course was CRAP, and I'm sorry! But it was a Saturday night and there were only 4 tables, so it's easy to get the food right. We then decided to order dessert and ordered a chocolate cake with ice cream.... that arrived in a glass! Means what should be a warm, fluffy cake, was warm spicy and chewing! NOT GUTZ at all, but we were not even asked how it was!! I know WE DON 'T take criticism good!!!!!! But the icing on the cake was when the bill came and although I ate NOTE!!!! we were rewarded with 2 free coffees!!! Yes! Swiss non-customer service best!!! You will never learn more, even after 20 years in this beautiful country! I had to pay almost 30chf for something I never ate! But hey! You can get 8chf off!!! Anyway, lesson learned, but sad. We live 5mins away, we would definitely have come back, but NOW!!! Never! Such a shame. Service was nice until I complained, but the beginners were almost MICHELIN Star Rating, the rest... good.... disappointment. Such a shame.... really a shame...."

"Eine Nachbarin schwärmte schon lange von der Schützenmatt, ihre Familie geht gern dahin - ich in Zukunft auch. Feine Cordonbleu, hausgemachte Salatsauce, Pommes Frites, die einfach perfekt sind, das Essen überzeugt, ebenso der Service und das liebevoll eingerichtete Lokal."

"We could celebrate a beautiful birthday here. somewhat loud in winter garden with the other groups - high noise level. the food came in spite of the many people speditiw and everything together. the quality was very good - also the size of the portion was correct. friendly service - but ew. somewhat overwhelmed with the many people. all in all, a good place."

"The personal is always unfriendly, you will not be noticed and never greeted in this restaurant! depending on the day there is no take away after lust and laune! if you ask why, there is no explanation for it. Just a pity. will no longer invest in this!"

"Wir haben zwei Geburtstage gefeiert. Wir hatten zwei Kinder dabei. Darum suchten wir ein kinderfreundliches Restaurant. Wir sind hell begeistert. Das Essen war wunderbar und die Bedienung ( alle Tische voll) kam nicht aus der Ruhe. Es hat auch einen tollen Spielplatz hinter dem Haus. Kann ich nur empfehlen! Mein Man und ich haben dann noch dort übernachtet!"
