"This Hotel/restaurant is tucked away from the main tourist areas in Villeneuve Sur Lot, by the old railway station in a little leafy square away from the hubbub. With a plat de jour menu costing only 14.90 euros including 3 courses and wine, it is much cheaper than the touristy main street places...and my word the quality and presentation of food here just knocks the competition into a cocked hat! Sure, they do not speak English, but they are friendly, helpful and with a covered terrace overlooking the quiet square, is ideal for smokers. The second time my wife and I went, indulged in the a la carte menu (19 euros each for entree and main course) and certainly were not disappointed. Quail with foie gras for me and salmon tartar for the better half, as starters; michelin presentation and so tasty. We both had the steak pave as mains; beautifully cooked with double cooked chips with skins on; heaven! Did not have room for puds. Total bill including 2 kirs and litre of red came to 61.80 euros, great value for Villeneuve. As a sub note, you have to visit the loos, Never judge a book by its cover!"

"Foie gras magret for total satisfaction, both for food and for service. Just a slight regret for the wine map, but very subjective. Everything for an unbeatable price quality ratio. Don't pass without getting rid of it!"
