"I took my 95 year old to high tea. It was so disappointing. All the food served was stale and not fresh. The scones were were hard and more than day old. This was quite shocking for Holts cafe as I've dined there many times choosing delicious food off the menu."

"The food in this afternoon tea was not worth the money, especially as we had to prepay and an automatic 18% tip was included. We have had afternoon tea in many top Toronto Hotels, but this was the most expensive and no where near the best. Some of us were still hungry at the end."

"I would call this place adequate, nothing spectacular, but nothing overly disappointing.They have a large selection which is nice and is looseleaf. The appetizer had caramelized onions, goat cheese in a tart. They had fairly tasty and substantial sized sandwiches. The desserts were a bit unimpressive and feel as though they are from the grocery store. Was an overall nice experience, with friendly staff. Would come if I lived close by in the area.The only downside (which can count for alot) is the vibe. It is not fancy or special feeling. If you want something that feels like a special occasion or want to feel like you are somewhere in british english style or with fine china or dainty tea room... it is not for you. The environment is very lack luster and the bathroom feels like a gas station washroom. The food is great, but the vibes could be better."
