"With some trepidation we went to this place for lunch recently as it was somewhat out-of-the way in country Toowoomba but we were passing by so stopped. Let me say, we were totally surprised with the quality, flavour, presentation of the House fish... chips for 2 with double serve of chips for only $16.00. I 'm so impressed we will return again before going back to Brisbane in a week or so after the carnival of flowers. There are tables chairs to eat at the store, it was really busy at noon so be prepared for a 10 minute wait. It looked like there was nobody patronizing the place but they were doing a roaring trade with phone in orders. Toowoomba, you are lucky to have such a fine fish café serving such fine food. "My friend and I had gone up to Toowoomba for the day to photograph the flowers during Toowoomba's annual flower festival. On the way back to Brisbane we decided to get something for dinner as we had had a long day, and not knowing the city, we just happened upon a small Fish and Chip shop on Mary Street. My friend ordered a piece of schnapper and chips and I ordered my favourite, John Dory and chips. We sat in the car to devour our meal and were greatly impressed with the seafood we'd bought. Both the schnapper and the dory were so fresh you could smell the freshness before we even opened our packets of food. The fish literally fell to pieces in our fingers and then just melted in our mouths as we ate. The fish was not only divine but also very reasonably priced as well.We were so surprised to find such beautifully flavoured fresh fish in a city quite a distance inland from the ocean. Neither of us have found any seafood that fresh and flavoursome in Brisbane and not even the seafood places near the shore offer such fresh fish. On speaking with our server Matt, he told me that the business is owned by a chef, and he has nothing but the best and we agree on that. Seafood on Mary's make all their own sauces as well and the sauce we had in our seafood was so creamy and tasty, I took some home for my hubby to try, and he loved it. Next time we go back to Toowoomba, we will most certainly be going back to Seafood on Mary."

"Chinese food was the feeling so we tried West Lake from another family members recommendation. While waiting for the takeaway there was a couple of mixups with other people's takeaways which unfortunately also was ours. The front counter staff was perfect in handling these under...some pressure of hungry eyes gazing. Very friendly and helpful with a little extra food gift for the ever so slight inconvenience was very thoughtful. Food was hot, good flavour and nice mix of vegetables to meat. Will definitely try West Lake again however will allow additional time for pickup in case we're entertaining."
