"We visited for lunch on a Wednesday. There were no other diners present (at 13.20) and we were told that it was a sandwich-only menu except on Sunday lunch-time. I ordered a ham and mustard sandwich; my wife had a prawn Marie Rose sandwich. They were served with excellent chips and a fresh side salad. The brown bread was fresh and my ham was generously cut from a large ham. I had a Romsey real ale; my wife had an Amstel lager. It was a pleasant light lunch. with friendly service and good views of the gold club outside."

"I came to the chilworth arms for Sunday. I had the trio of roasting and all 3 meat pork pork, huh and bark were perfectly cooked. the engraving and the circumcisions were also to a very high standard, one of the best roasts I had for years! beautiful land pub atmosphere with very pleasant and courteous employees, I will be back!"

"We arrived as a Family Party of 8 People, Staff started out well and they took our Order. We waited 35 mins for Starters which we had to Chase up (Kids were Desperate to eat. Despite 3 more requests to get our Main Courses we were told they were being plated up. Clearly the Kitchen could not managed as on the 3rd occasion the Chef came out and decided that we were being Unfair after a 1hour 45mins wait to question where our Food was! He then decided to state that he would Bar us if we could not wait 45mins for Food……..! The Poor Front of House Manager was Devastated and her Hands appeared Tied on what she could say and do! Needless to say she eventually accepted that we were Extremely Unhappy and Told us not to worry about the Bill and We could leave. Reading between the Lines the Chef and at least One Member of Front of House staff clearly had No Customer Service skills and could not cope with their Duties or Criticism. The Manager was Trying hard to meet expectations but was being let down by others, Possibly being Bullied. The Food fell well below our Expectations, Lettuce not Cleaned or Trimmed, Kids Burger dry, Steak over Cooked and other Food inedible or not wanted due to Staff Actions Behaviour!"
