"The worst chicken fried rice that we have had in our entire lives. There was a sprinkling of shredded chicken so tiny that it was the consistency of grated cheese on top of a generic fried rice that was bland with a hint of unpleasant flavour. No vegetables at all! Clearly, all of their fried rice is the same with just a meagre sprinkling of whatever on top. Small portions. Very skimpy chicken wings with no batter or flavour of any sort besides stale oil: very dry and funky tasting. The lemon chicken was okay, and it was the only decent sized portion of anything that we ordered. The egg roll was doughy, heavy, and gross. Avoid. It was expensive to start with, and completely disappointing. What a waste of good money! Blecch."

"In instances like this I wish TripAdvisor would allow for the use of half star ratings because Lucky Garden is at least worth 3.5 stars, not just three. I say that because other Chinese places in town, namely Polly's and Shan Yan, are average. Their food, as I've written elsewhere is OK not bad but OK. In other words, I wouldn't go out of my way to eat at any of those places. Now, I'm not saying Lucky Garden is by any means excellent (because it isn't), but it is slightly better than Polly's and Shan Yan. For instance, both Polly's and Shan Yan have incredibly boring and ultimately tasteless chow mein, whereas Lucky Garden's at least has a bit of flavour and the portions aren't as overcompensatingly large and therefore are a lot more manageable. Similarly, whereas Polly's and Shan Yan both had relatively lame prawn dishes (some made with very cheap vegetables), the Prawns and Black Bean sauce at Lucky Garden was surprisingly good: the black bean sauce was ample, but not overflowing the dish; they weren't cheap with the prawns and the prawns were cooked beautifully; and the vegetables moved beyond mere green peppers and celery pieces. It was nice to finally have a decent Chinese meal in Terrace. To be clear, though, Lucky Garden is very much Westernized Chinese, but that's to be expected in a small northern city. Like all of the other Chinese eateries in town Polly's, Shan Yan, Golden Star the interior is very dated and could use a bit of a makeover. The walls and chairs are this strange, unappealing blue green colour. Very 1980s. But at least the restaurant is clean and the server friendly. What I like most about this eatery, besides the decent food, is the location: Lucky Garden is right in the heart of downtown Terrace and so is within easy walking distance from most hotels (unlike Polly's, which is kind of out of the way, or Shan Yan, which is in a seedy part of Terrace). FOOD: 3/5 SERVICE: 4/5 VALUE: 3.75/5 RECOMMENDATION: If you're looking for authentic, non Westernized Chinese in Terrace you'll come up empty handed because no such place exists; however, if you're looking for good Westernized food at a decent price, Lucky Garden is probably your best bet. The menu is extensive but doesn't over extend itself (unlike the competitors), and it has some nice options not found at the other Chinese restaurants. The food isn't excellent by any means, but if I find myself in Terrace and have a hankering for Chinese food, I know where I'm going!"

"I was genuinely surprised, when walking through Terrace in early March, to spy out of the corner of my eye, the No. 1 Restaurant logo. In some strange way, this filled me with a sense of joy (?) to see this logo expand beyond Prince Rupert. I'm not sure why, but I found it both good yet funny to see No. 1 Restaurant/Fast Foods open a new location. It took me a while to get around to it, but I finally went in for a couple of meals.Much like its sister location in Rupert, the menu here is pretty eclectic -- you have a mix of Western, Seafood and Asian cuisine. Unlike Rupert, however, the Terrace location features a couple of Thai dishes. On my first visit, I opted to try the prawn pad thai. The prawns were cooked nicely and gave that all too familiar pop, but the actual pad thai itself was pretty dismal -- pretty sad. The noodles had absolutely no flavour whatsoever and there was an overabundance of sweet nuts sprinkled (more like dumped) on top. Totally forgettable dish and, if this is how it's served here, I'm glad it's not on the Rupert menu because this was honestly an insult to pad thai.More recently, I've tried a chow mein dish and burgers. I wasn't too surprised with the quality here: the chow mein, just like the Rupert location, was plain, boring and tasteless while the burgers were actually pretty decent. Ironically, I'd recommend coming here for the burgers, but not much else. One thing this place has over its Prince Rupert sister: the space looks more modern and is definitely a lot cleaner. No. 1 Restaurant in Rupert looks tired in comparison to this one; in that regard, it's certainly a much more appealing setting and atmosphere.FOOD: 3/5 (for the burgers, nothing else)SERVICE: 2.5/5VALUE: 3/5RECOMMENDATION: I think this place is kind of like putting lipstick on a pig. New space and slightly expanded menu, but the food quality is just the same as it is in Rupert. In other words, maybe visit for burgers and other Western foods, but definitely skip the Asian foods as they're far from remarkable."

"I'm not a raving fan of many of the Chinese restaurants in Terrace, as I have a taste for authentic Chinese (Dim Sum! and those, you can really only find in larger centers. But since we have what we have, Polly's is as good as...they come. You don't leave hungry. The only problem I saw is that they have a very large take-out clientele, and the staff doesn't seem to be able to efficiently handle both the people coming in to pick up orders AND the people already seated in the restaurant. The staff was friendly, and to be fair there was 1 girl trying to handle 2 moderate tables and a very large 10+ group. A table beside us never got one of their orders, yet they were charged for it, but our order was fine. I have been there more than once and I would go back again."
