"Really great place for a day out in the mountains. Beautiful scenery and places to eat and explore. Get there early, as it can be very busy on weekends. Spend time walking and visiting the shops and tasting the great foods and beers. The clock shop was a highlight for me, as was the Brewery."

"... or so the staff at Green Lane Coffee Plantation might let you think.Don't get me wrong, the cafe is a welcome change from the others situated on the northern half of the mountain, with it's alfresco sun trap and roaring fireplace making for a pleasant 'cuppa' on a cold winters morning.But today's visit and 'average' rating is more about the staff than the coffee...I ordered a latte, the waitress wrote down latte on the order docket yet I received a flat white????Yes, I had a lively chat regarding 'flat whites' whilst placing my order but 'latte' was written down on her docket?Of course everyone loves a muffin with their coffee so we ordered from the scrumptious looking ones on display. We picked blueberry and white chocolate or at least so we thought! Turns out we were served something different????Time to go and as always, we nod our thanks to the waiting staff yet today... the response was a surly, grimaced and an almost 'relieved looking' face from the waitress????None of the above mentioned criticisms are a 'deal breaker' when looked at singularly yet when combined as they were this morning... it becomes almost 'Faulty Towers-esque' comical.As we drove away and commented on the strong rich coffee we have come to expect from the Green Lane Coffee Plantation, I suddenly thought.... perhaps the staff are guilty of the most grievous of sins... tasting the merchandise!Perhaps, just perhaps they had a 'cuppa' of their own prior to service and voila... brain fade!We'll be back (but next time I'll be bringing the smelling salts - ha ha!)."
