"Das Gasthaus ist nur wenige Schritte vom Eingang zur Burg Hochosterwitz gelegen; eines der Wahrzeichen des Bundeslandes Kärnten. Vom bestechenden Panorama mal ganz abgesehen, bietet das Restaurant jede Menge lokale Spezialitäten zu relativ moderaten Preisen. Das Personal des Familienbetrieb wirkt sehr freundlich und um den Kunden bemüht - auch das bestellt Essen wird flottest serviert. Alles in allem ein sehr zu empfehlendes Lokal."

"We ate here mid afternoon during our holiday in Carinthia. It 's a charming place, nicely situated and near Hochhosterwitz castle. It looks to be beautifully renovated without being fussy and we found it very comfortable. The room we were in had a lovely exposed brick vaulted ceiling. The menu is written in dialect and this was a nice original touch. It seems that the owners have put a lot of thought into this restaurant and it 's well promoted and advertised with interesting promotional events. There are different special offers for every day of the week. We visited on 'steak ' day but we didn 't have the steak. The other days include backhendel on a Saturday and there 's a fish day. The food was good. We had meat patties with mash and gravy, and a meat and cheese platter. There was also a sweet noodle dish of what looked like Karnter nudels filled with a sweet nut filling and covered in melted butter. Prices were very reasonable and as I recall the main courses we had were around 10 euros each maximum. Everything about the place was good apart from the attitude of the staff. Our waitress was pleasant enough but there was a lot of bustling about preparing for the night, or the following day which was a bank holiday. We felt as though we were in the way. At one point, the restaurant manager and the waitress came up to our table and proceeded to adjust our tablecloth because it wasn 't straight. There 's Austrian efficiency and there 's a fussiness that is over the top. We were not bothered if the tablecloth was straight or not. We 'd rather have had a friendly conversation and a warmer welcome. That really was the only thing lacking at this lovely restaurant. That said, I would like to go back and give it another chance and would certainly recommend it for the food and the atmosphere."

"On the journey home from italia, on which search for a good gas house, it devoured us because of the good Google reviews in the sonnhof in st. veit an der glan. we all decided to carve or cordon bleu (salat was in each case.) top price/performance ratio! unfortunately there was no menu on the internet. we find something like that in person, because then you can taste what you have to eat."

"Wir sind zufällig in das Café gekommen und waren sehr, sehr zufrieden! Die Angestellten waren wirklich freundlich und die Torten und die heiße Schoko wirklich top. Besonders war die Ostertorte mit Spinat, die wirklich außergewöhnlich gut geschmeckt hat! Ich kann dieses Café absolut weiterempfehlen!"

"Das Lokal ist versteckt, und doch wartet in diesem einen Raum im Erdgeschoss des Fuchs Palasts ein kleines italienisches Juwel. Nur durch Zufall stießen wir auf das da Corrado. Den ersten Gedanken "nur zum Pizza abholen" ließen wir gleich wieder fallen, als wir vom italienischen Eigentümer herzlichst zum Hinsetzen eingeladen wurden. Er ist nicht nur der Besitzer dieser kleinen Pizzeria, er macht auch selbst die Pizzas - und das mit unendlicher Liebe.Auf der Speisekarte stehen unzählige Pizzavarianten, Salat und italienische Jause. Und jedes einzelne Gericht ist ein Gedicht. Die Pizzas schmecken wie in Italien (dünn, knackig, schmackhaft mit frischen Zutaten belegt!), die Salate werden von der Hausherrin frisch zubereitet und die italienische Jause mit Foccaccia spielt alle Stücke. Was ganz besonders auffällt: der besonders intensive Oreganogeschmack... "Oregano kaufen wir in Sardinien und das Olivenöl kommt ebenfalls aus Italien" Es wird nichts dem Geschmackszufall überlassen.Das Ehepaar schmeißt fröhlich den Laden, begrüßt jeden Gast persönlich und scheint für jeden - bis zu später Stunde - ein nettes Wort auf den Lippen zu haben. Wir fühlen uns jedes Mal aufs neue wie im Wohnzimmer der beiden :-)Was das Lokal angeht: ein Raum - schlicht, minimal, mit fünf Tischen - und auch das macht die Pizzeria da Corrado so besonders für uns. Was die Preise angeht: schwer ok - die Pizzas liegen zwischen 6 und 12 Euro. Der große Salat kostet 8,30.Wir freuen uns schon auf unseren nächsten Ausflug nach little Italy in St. Veit!"

"Dopo aver visitato il locale per 4-5 volte ... ad ogni ritorno anche dopo mesi, il benvenuto dei titolari è sempre molto caloroso e piacevole. Locale semplice, economico ...e aperto anche alle 22.00... buona la pizza, i crostini toscani ... ma anche primi e I secondi. Potrebbero migliorare la presentazione dei piatti, un po' troppo "base". Anche l'occhio vuole la sua parte."
