"Quite possibly my most favorite hotel experience ever. Every single thing about The Painswick is en pointe. The decor and furnishings were beautiful. The staff is friendly and helpful. Our room (George’s Suite) was as comfortable as it was lovely. The town of Painswick did not disappoint! There were lots of maps available that offered a variety of hiking experiences... definitely the highlight of our time there. My only regret is that we didn’t stay longer!"

"A truly wonderful evening! We opted for the 7 course tasting menu and it was perfect from start to finish! We both especially liked the Halibut with the langoustine bouillabaisse. The waiters and waitress’ were very attentive and knowledgeable throughout each course and made us both feel very special. We will be back very soon. Many thanks"

"Fabulous post lock-down meal. Great soufflé, breads and pork belly. Followed by excellent lamb, fish and chips, steak and arancini. Superb puddings as well sticky toffee and chocolate tart. Good service and an excellent meal."

"A nice countryside pub with a lovely garden that had plenty of seating and a fantastic view across the Chalford valley and in to the distance. Good range of drinks and the food was fairly good home cooked fodder quite a lot of which was vegetarian. Good staff and friendly atmosphere. Dogs welcome which is always nice. Would recommend this pub anytime. Enjoy!"
