"A grimy, crappy, little joint that lays claim to the greasiest, blandest italian food in portland award. I live in the neighborhood and frequent the building this lame-ass restaurant is on for the excellent video store (videoport and the local chain bull moose music. I ate at anthony 's a few times before realizing that the stomach upset was not just a coincidence, and before conversations with the nice people who worked and shopped regularly in the building clued me in as to the justifiably low esteem the owner (the titular 'anthony ' was held in; boy, does everyone hate this guy. from bullying, underpaying and mistreating his cowed workers, to being the worst neighbor anyone could imagine to the other businesses there, this guy is as unpopular as mussolini, and about as personable. bad food, bad proprietor...avoid this blight on portlan 'd downtown at all costs."

"An absolutely wonderful and extremely caring family run this fun Italian Kitchen with love and consideration. My daughter attends MECA and it is her absolute favorite place to eat! Karen (and Jason have been so very kind and welcoming to her. It has really helped her transition, being away from home, to have them make her feel right at home in Portland at Anthony's!!! Thank you, from the bottom of our heart, from her beyond grateful parents! PS It is amazing how much love can be packed into a delicious jumbo chocolate chip cookie!!!! :"
