"What a nice time we had. ordered eating from the takeaway nextdoor and immersed in a drink while waiting for our order. the very friendly renter said that we could have our take in the pub if we wanted to resist a nice beer while we eat ours. many thanks for their offer. "Cold and smelled of dogs on arrival. Waited ages to be served and the waitress was more interested on who was at the bar rather than taking our table order for 10 people. Food was very salty and the steak pie in particular was terrible. Every meal as standard/basic or frozen style food. The whole place is run down and miserable. We went off trip advisor reviews as well on a visit to the area and wished we hadn’t. Go to The Pheasant Inn down the road at Allithwaite instead that was lovely food and fab service."

"We went on our tour yesterday evening through pubs in south furness half island and had a really good night. a simple menu nicely executed. we had washed the burger, scampi and a serious big fish and chips with a series of real ale, we had lancaster blonde and timothy taylor renter. great service and cozy table at the fire, perfect."
