"Lovely dog friendly cafe in the heart of Cartmel. We have an unsociable dog and the owners made sure we could keep her tucked away from other dogs while we ate. Lovely tea and sandwiches. Very freiendly staff."

"A wonderful little treasure trove in Grange. We got takeaway Gyros pitte's, with a (surprisingly large) side of fries, which were all of high quality! The lady who greeted me at the desk was also welcoming, and fun! Myself and my partner took our food over to a bench on the promenade, to enjoy the sunset, rounding off the evening quite nicely! We'd love to come back and dine in some day, so expect to see us! "I don’t know how anyone could give L’Enclume less than 5 stars. I had high expectations of course however, every single part of this experience was above and beyond. The food is outstanding, but the staff were even better. The service is the best I’ve ever experienced. Every single staff member I interacted with was exceptional. Most of all we had fun! Congratulations! L’Enclume deserve their number one spot amongst UK restaurants."

"Thoroughly enjoyed our afternoon tea. Food was fresh but could maybe do with more variety cake wise as was all very similar fruit cakes. Staff were attentive when needed but could have been more visual. Would highly recommend though."
