"I'm glad we found this place. The food is excellent! Very recommended and worth waiting. The service itself was a little slow and friendly throughout the place (it was a busy weekend day though), as I am still not sure who my server was? but unlike that, great place for breakfast!"

"Came here with a big group of 16 people. It took them about 35 minutes to seat us, which they prepared very well. While we were waiting, we asked for coffee and they promptly gave it to us with cream and sugar. Food was pretty good and hit the spot for most of us. A lot of us got the french toast, waffles, or burrito specials. The burritos were loaded. The waffles has a special scent to it (I think cinnamon) which made it stand out from the usual fare. The french toast was yummy especially with blackberries. not sure if that is standard or they added it for me. I didn't request it but I did say I wish their was fruit on it. Others that got french toast, and had ordered a side of fruits, had the mixed melons in their plate, which is why I don't know if they heard me wrong and added blackberries (no xtra charge on my bill), but it was greatly appreciated."

"We ate here for the first time tonit and loved it! My sister, brother-in-law and I had different menu items and all were wonderful. We ate outside, were really impressed by Aidan our host who was charming and efficient and seemed to be an assistant to our great, fun server. The food was great, I had the best tomato bisque in my life, and I am really old!! Staff entertaining and fun and efficient. We will definitely be back and I would highly recommend this place"

"I bought my home in the Belmont Heights area of Long Beach in 2000 and discovered the POTHOLDER almost immediately. My career has had me bouncing around the country for the last 17 years but I'm back in the neighborhood. Couldn't wait to introduce my wife to this fabulous, local breakfast lunch dive just 2 blocks from home. I was pleasantly surprised at the great upgrades the new owner, Michael has done to the place. It still has a great, funky feel, just upgraded funky. Before Covid, Saturday or Sunday meant 60 90 minute waits to get a seat. That should (and does speak volumes for the food. Always tasty, great portions and great service to match. If you've never been, you owe it to yourself to give it a shot. And after you've been there, you too will be telling others to EAT AT THE POTHOLDER. (You'll understand after you've visited. :"
