"... actually watch craftsmen make drinks! Hinz and Kunz, if this is their real name, work there (or say the name on their shirts, together with Sam; we fell on a Saturday night after viewing the flea market in the market hall. Great looking bar area and atmosphere; we sat at the bar and could Hinz (or was it Kunz? : go She through his steps as he mixes the drinks and it is obvious that they make great pride on the perfect cocktail. The logo shows the bARTtenders so you see them when you are able to make it fun. I think they offer some small plates that we did not try and the snacks served with drinks was a nice touch. Most employees speak English so communication is not a problem and if they are very busy, they don't really want you...so sit, relax and watch! A great way to spend a cocktail hour before dinner. You know how to make a real Martini and Manhattan!"

"When I choose a hotel, it is the bed, the shower and noise levels that are most important. In a restaurant it is food, service and atmosphere. This place scores tops on all three criteria. The food is really made at home like Italy but BETTER....We tried 5 dishes and each of them was excellent: nobody was weak. Five is a bit much, but the additional fitness time is worth the next day. Wine also very interesting and from the beaten track: follow the recommendations and you will be good. Service is super friendly, but not overlaid: a difficult balance. The atmosphere is cool but not unpleasant with good music at a reasonable level This is my new favorite place Basel: it is small with only 20 or so seats, so book forward perhaps a good idea."

"Chose this place as we were walking past and liked idea of light Tapas style dinner for 4 of us after big lunch. Service was excellent and attentive and made good suggestions too. Good wine choice (Spanish of course) and the meals were tasty. Little...on the expensive side but seems to be normal for Basel."
