"Update: Sep 2023: Still great food and great service. The special cocktails are awesome. Still highly recommended. My wife and I have been coming here a couple of times in the last 2-3 years and every single time, both the food and the service have been top notch. This time we had the Crispy Calamari to start, and they couldn't be more crispier and tastier. The best calamaris I have had for a while now. Next we had a cup of Gumbo and a Shrimp PoBoy. The gumbo tasted great. The Shrimp PoBoy was great too although it was a little dry and I wish the sauce they used could have been more. Still no complaints though. Lastly, we had the Bread Pudding for dessert. Again, easily the best pudding I have had except maybe for some in New Orleans. Great service as usual and I look forward to coming back soon. "McAlister's is nothing to write home about when it comes to sandwiches. In fact, I think they're bread, which is the key focus for all good sandwiches, needs an upgrade. But the food is good and what they lack in outstanding bakery goods they more than make up for in outstanding customer service. I have a young daughter who's on the autism spectrum who is working hard to order and pay things by herself. We go here to watch her go through those steps by herself knowing that the people at the counter are patient and willing to help. Well Mom and Dad said at a table 30 ft away grasping each other's shoulders and stress as we watch our 18-year-old daughter struggles to understand how to wait in line, we do feel more comfortable because people are nice here and understand that she is trying her best. Kudos to management who hires people who actually care."
