"Amazing Mexican restaurant! Both the quality of the food and the customer service are amazing! The portions are decent however their prices have gone up dramatically. $36 for the fajitas mixtas and I believe the combination plates are now at least $18 each. So, inflation is really reflecting here. Overall a great restaurant. Not sure that I can eat here very often at this prices though."

"Simply stated, El Rocoto is a chef owned and operated Peruvian restaurant, serving one of the most delicious expressions of this amazing country 's cuisine in SoCal. Everything we ordered tasted super fresh and made with a lot of love and passion. The quality ingredients are treated with respect, and the cooking techniques involve both the age old traditional Inca style as well as the high BTU range providing a slight smokiness, aka wok hei a product of the Southern Chinese influence in Peruvian cuisine (known as Chifa style). Oh those aromas are to die for! Their tiraditos, lomo saltado, tacu tacu especial, chaufa, and papa rellena tickled our taste buds with a huge array of flavors and textures, way beyond what 's common in any single meal. Although I really got the impression that everything on their menu is scrumptiously delicious! Also, be sure to try one of their amazing craft cocktails as well as their housemate chicha morada! If you 're already familiar with Peruvian food, then you definitely have to try this place, and if you 're not, I 'm telling my friend, you 're missing out big time! Highly recommend!"

"Of all the Peruvian restaurants in and around the Downey area, this one is the best. The 'lomo ' meat dish that is made with fries was so delicious, it was tender, and the juices from how they cook the meat are so tasty. This dish, if made correctly, is proof of knowing how to make Peruvian food and Fernandos definitely knows what they are doing. The bread and salsa (particularly the green salsa) are a great start to the dining experience. The inside and setting is modest, it 's not high end food but the service was quick and friendly. A place to take the family for sure."
