"Our choice of Bar des Oiseaux was last minute but they kindly accommodated our party of six. An excellent menu, not overly complicated. A lively and busy interior with some outdoor space also. What exceeded was the quality of food and fantastic warm service. Portion...sizes are just right allowing for a starter, main and dessert. Our attempts to speak french were met with the staffs attempt to speak English so we got along famously! Suitable for vegetarians and meat eaters alike with a very reasonable wine list. Definitely a place to return as well as recommend in old town Nice. Merci beaucoup and see you next time!"

"My wife and I went with the seven course Prix Fix menu. It was quite expensive, but after reading the reviews we had to go for it. It was worth every penny. Each course was better than the next. The wine selection is extensive and the staff is very well known to help you choose a perfect pairing. We ate outside on the street that was quite loud but able to watch Chef Goux work while watching through the big window in the kitchen was fun watching. We'll probably eat in the next time. This was our favorite meal of the week and there were some high-ranking competitors from the old town in the mix."

"...make it Bistrot d'Antoine. I go there every time I am in the city, and it has not yet succumbed to the temptation to live on its established reputation and lower its standards. This time the tomato entrée, one of their specialities - lots of different coloured tomatoes in a stunning, subtle dressing - was as good as ever. My kidneys were wonderful and Linda's liver equally so, though I did look enviously at the splendid lump of rare beef a Frenchman was eating at the next table. Desserts were inspired compotes - cherries for me, pineapple and ginger for Linda. The house white wine is a fine dry Sauvignon. You need to book, though."

"We went there to taste many varieties of wine, but there was only 4 blancs, 4 rouge. Even per glass wine prize was 8EUR for average wine. We ordered duck and beef. Duck was ok, but beef was very average and kind like round steak."
