"A local resident recently introduced us to Big Al’s Deli and Catering for a soulful southern taste of Nashville. Nestled in a cozy house in the Germantown neighborhood, we were happy we came hungry. We sampled some of the favorites overflowing on big plates. Fried catfish, meatloaf and the cheeseburger with comfort food sides of green beans, cornbread, mash potatoes and cinnamon apples. Everything was quite delicious and very filling for our stomachs and souls. Big Al’s is open with specials for breakfast and lunch except on Sunday."

"The food is beyond delicious. I'm a fairly clean eater, but not vegan. I'm also a foodie, so I'm pretty critical. Every bite was amazing. The environment was energetic and very good to meet up with a friend. You won't be unsatisfied if you aren't a raw or vegan eater. Food just does not get better."

"I passed this place on my way to lunch a hundred times, and had wondered about it... finally made it in this week. I ordered a calzone... and ever since have been sad about all the times I could have eaten there and went somewhere else... It was so good... portion size was larger than expected, the crust was dead on excellence... the meats and cheeses were fresh and cooked to perfection. Prices have gone up, but still very reasonably priced... and it's a little cheaper if you use cash. If you've never been here and have been curious, I'd definitely recommend checking it out. They have a pretty diverse menu, so I can't speak for everything, but the pizzas, calzones and fries are top notch."

"We were probably 10 times and the service and the food are not disappointed. We tried to find GOOD oysters in Nashville and had no luck yet. Love saltines. Rich the manager is fantastic and always falls past to say hi when we in, that is so small, but means so much."
