"For 2 years this place has been visited and it has become my family go-to place for good Cantonese cuisine in a family-friendly environment. recommend the taro yam dee, deep roasted chicken ribs in golden egg yolk and the deep fried flounder in spicy salt. vincent in front of the house always offers a quick and friendly service."

"Lamb skewers were the best that I’ve ever had around Melbourne! <br/ I ‘ve been to many Chinese bbq places and the lamb skewers here were the best : <br/ <br/ Xinjiang Style rice was Ok I will not order this next time. Xinjiang Style chicken with vegetables (small was generous enough for two people.<br/ <br/ Would recommend come here next time for the lamb skewers!"

"I really like the food here. Their tomato and egg on rice is perfect and not sweet. I have eaten quite a few things from the menu and also ordered wrong dishes by mistake but everything has been great! I did try to call and order one night however the chef couldn't speak English to take my order over phone so I just jumped in my car and drove down and ordered and waited. Was ready pretty quickly so if you do call and this happens, don't rule it out, just go. Their food doesn't disappoint. Tastes like the food I loved in China "

"Bought the car teow. the server said it had garnel, fish cake etc. went to house to open the container and next to flat reisnudeln, there was only fish cake, sausage and a few pieces of red pfeffer. that should not be sold as a meal! no sweet and no real flesh. I finished 50% of the food bind and cooked some steamed vegetables and eggs to supplement some food in my diet. will never visit again."

"Enjoyed the most delicious feast at Red Cliff! The restaurant is quietly tucked away on Queen St, but upon entering you’ll find yourself in a spacious and home y Chinese restaurant! Every dish we ordered was delicious! Definitely recommend getting their Spicy Grilled Whole Fish which is perfect for winter as it’s served heated at the table. Their famous Yabby Noodles are a must try too the noodles are perfectly chewy and that gravy sauce is phenomenal. Their Half Peking Duck is a really good deal too, as it comes with a generous serving of fried rice and plenty of duck and pancakes to share! For snacks, also try the Fried Lotus Root stuffed with pork absolutely delicious and super addictive. One thing they do really well here is portion sizes each dish is MASSIVE! You’ll definitely want to make sure you come hungry or take a big group with you to try more dishes. Overall, we were very satisfied with our meal here. Thank you for having us!"

"A small family run Chinese restaurant that cooks with love. Had dinner here not long ago with our family friends who were friends of the chef and owner. We were recommended off menu items which are basically their specials of the day and so glad we went with that as being Chinese, I've eaten pretty much tried everything they had on the menu at other places, so it was something different. <br/ <br/ We ordered the lobster noodle, abalone and snow peas, spicy salt soft shell crabs, poached free range chicken, snow pea leaves and a soup (forgot what it was . This meal didn't come cheap as you pay for what you get for and it was worth every cent! (Also because lobster and abalone is never cheap! Haha <br/ <br/ The lobster noodle is one of the better ones I've tasted as other restaurants usually make the noodles very gulgy and thick (too much thickener I think and the lobster is sometimes over cooked, but golden ocean does it just right with plebty of noodles. <br/ <br/ The soft shell crab was very interesting too! Never had it this particular way. They cooked it through with curry leaves with left the whole dish with a lovely aroma that filled the air. <br/ <br/ Definitely can't wait to come back with the family to try some other stuff. Definitely ask for recommendations if you want something different from your typical Chinese restaurant meals! <br/ <br/ From other family friends that also have been, it's best to notify them in advance that you are going for dinner, not because it's busy but so that they can get any particular dish you want in advance. They really cater to your taste to the best of their possibilities limited by seasonality I'm assuming. <br/ <br/ Hope this long review gets them the publicity the need and deserve hidden away in mount Waverley ! :"

"Unfortunately, this restaurant has recently changed property by years. the once excellent menu has been completely changed, the special dessert menu has also been removed and replaced by a standard Chinese restaurant dessert menu. nothing more very sad to see these changes and a total disregard for what was formerly one of the best Chinese restaurants in this opposite. R.I.P. sun luk."
