"I had the pleasure of dining her last night. After having dinner and the quality and size of portions I'm surprised to find that tge restaurant was empty. It saddened me actually. The food was delicious, cooked, and or prepared beautifully. My only suggestion might...be to expand beyond sushi. Consider adding a couple of Teriyaki dishes, Yakitori, and Udon dishes. Give people some hot choices to come back for."

"The atmosphere is grungy but I like it ... adds character : The food is adequate although the prices may be a bit high. The service is pretty hit and miss where it's not unusual for you to have to go up to the bar...to get a drink while the servers are off somewhere visiting. Sometimes though it's just plain staffing issues where the place is pretty busy and there is only one server working."

"I had an unfortunate experience and really should write a trashing review, but I'm pretty sure it was not the norm. This looks like a good family restaurant being run by a good family and when my meal had an issue they did what they could to make it right. Because of the way they handled it, if I'm ever back in Melville I would make a point of trying it again. At least my issue proved that they are making things on site and just not serving factory food."

"If you want excellent, very tasty Chinese food, well, there's no better place than Chan's in Melville!! You just gotta try the scrumptious eggrolls, chicken wings, dry ribs, and so much more...and I promise you, you will leave a very satisfied customer who become a regular!!!! I LOVE Chan's!! If oyu don't believe me, come try it out for yourself! You will never be disappointed!Price is right to, for a smorg! Plus they do have a menu you can order from as well...."
